If a big could give us both that would be great. Reddick would be great if we could afford him. I don't know if we could. Ibaka or Gallanari could cover a lot of points for their versatility. Gallo and Bazz on the cheap would work for me, though that would be tough on D.
Give me Tolliver as a backup forward. He gives you volume 3 point shooting solid defense and he plays hard. He wont cost a whole lot but covers slot of what this team needs. I'm ok if we shoot for higher than him but Inthinknhe would be a really nice fit here.

I'm still nervous with G as our starting 4. Id like some more muscle down low.
I want to do zero trades that involve a future 1st.
The earliest we can trade a 1st is 2021 (because of the payne trade). So if we would trade our 2021 1st for a player we would be out of tradeable 1st round assets till 2023.
We don't now what we will be in 5 years. It could all fail and we suck again or we could be actually good but don't have a key asset to trade to legit make a run at things.
Butler trade made a huge step from non playoff team to a tough out in the playoffs and might win a series.
There is no trade out there that we could acquire using our 2021 1st that would let us move to the next step of "fake contender" (an injury away) or a nba championship contender
Gallo would be so great to add to our core. But can we really afford to spend all of our cap space this offseason? Once you sign Wig and then KAT next year, we will be so far into the luxury tax that i can't see Glen authorizing it. I realize it's not our money and this is the year we need to do it, but how are we going to be able to shed dollars in the next few years?
I wouldn't pursue Millsap or Ibaka because I'm certain we can't afford them. Millsap's age is also an issue. Pursuing George Hill, Jeff Teague or Jrue Holiday would mean trading Ricky for cap space because they'd all expect to be starters and we couldn't afford any of those guys without jettisoning Ricky's contract. I wouldn't trade Ricky just to make room for one of those guys either. Holiday would be the best fit as a total package, including age, but his injury history is way too significant to risk trading Ricky and going all in on him as our starting PG. I really like Hill, but his age (31) doesn't fit very well on this team and again we'd have to trade Ricky for cap space, which means no significant return at all. Teague isn't a particularly good 3-point shooter at 35.5% so I wouldn't even consider him.
We should be pursuing at least one 3-point marksman as a backup PG, SG or SF and possibly one other marksman at the PF position as well. Thibs has made it clear he's looking for age fit -- wanting someone in his 20s, not 30s and I agree. We have a window this summer with significant cap space so this is the time to get the right long-term fits on 4-year deals. That means players in their 20s who can make an impact right away and over the long haul. So here are my top targets:
GUARDS/WINGS:
1. Tony Snell -- He's my top pick as a young, athletic 26 year old with remaining upside. He passes the first test as a good 3-point shooter, hitting 40.6% of his threes last season and 37.3% over his young career. He's also young at age 26 and athletic. He's a good defender and can be a two-way player off the bench in our rotation. As an added bonus, he's played for Thibs and played with Butler. Unfortunately, he's a restricted free agent. But I'm not sure how hard the Bucks would compete to keep him. He made $2.3 million last season. I don't have a sense of what it would take to get him, but it would certainly be less than Gallo, Millsap, Ibaka or Redick. He should be Thibs' #1 FA priority.
2. Joe Ingles: At age 30 when the season starts, he's a little older than I'd like. But he's a terrific 3-point shooter, hitting 44% of his threes last season and 40% over his career. He's also a great competitor and tough defender as we all saw in the playoffs. Unfortunately, like Snell, he's a restricted FA.
3. Patrick Mills: He's 29 and would be a heck of a backup PG. He's an excellent three-point shooter, hitting 41.4% of his threes last season and 39.5% over his career. I also like that he's been with the Spurs and understands a winning culture. Although I like Tyus, I don't want to go into the season with him as our sole backup PG. I'd like someone more reliable in that role. The good news is he's an unrestricted FA.
4. Darren Collison: He's a 30-year old small and very quick PG. He's also a terrific 3-point shooter, hitting over 41% of his threes last season and 38% over his career. He may only go to a team where he'd be starting, but I'm not sure who that team would be. He's an unrestricted FA.
5. CJ Miles: Also 30 years old by the time the season starts. He hit an impressive 41.3% of his threes last season. But the caution is his career 36% career three-point average.
6. Ian Clark: He's not quite the 3-point shooter we need with a career 36.4% three-point averge, but he hit 37.4% of his threes last season and he's relatively young at age 26. He's also an unrestricted FA.
7. Omar Casspi -- I'd see if we can get him on the cheap. He's a decent 3-point shooter who also brings toughness and experience.
I'd like to see us sign one of the first 6 I listed above at no more than $10 million per year plus Casspi on a very cheap contract and then sign some minimum salary vets, D-League players and/or undrafted college players who can shoot or defend (or both) I'd look to spend the rest on a C or PF because I doubt Patton will be ready to contribute meaningfully next season.
BIGS:
1. Patrick Patterson: He' give us a solid stretch 4 off the bench. He hit 37% of his threes last season, about the same as his career average.
2. Alex Len -- Not a stretch 5, but he's a good rebounder and decent shot-blocker. He's a restricted FA with a of upside. He could help us with much-needed inside depth and size.
3. Dedmon: Pop liked him enough to make him the Spurs started center last season. He's a restricted FA so the Spurs could match. But if the Spurs are trying to make room for a FA like Chris Paul then perhaps we could steal him away although other teams will likely pursue him.
4. Udoh: I liked him when he came out of college and he is coming off a great season in Europe. He's a shot-blocker, which is something we need.

Outstanding list Lip. I have to believe Collison could be had pretty cheap as a backup PG and also a nice placeholder starter in the event Rubio gets hurt. The glut of PGs combined with his age makes it unlikely that someone is going to throw a lot of money at him.
Ingles is a guy I absolutely love for this team. Don't forget he can handle and pass the ball too.
Sergio Rodriquez was a mixed bag with the Sixers last year but might be a good fit as a vet backup to his Buddy Rubio if other better options go elsewhere/too expensive.
Shelving Mack ok he may not be a shooter but it feels like every time I watch the guy play...the guy can play basketball. He probably won't cost a lot and while we should probably aim higher and his 3 point shot is questionable although he does take them I would be happy to get him.
Jonas Jerebko sort of a Tolliver type addition. I wouldn't want to pay a lot for him but that's a solid type that could help. Dante Cunningham could be added here too but ai wonder if he might actually cost more than both guys.
Aaron Brooks if you want a guy that Inwouldnt feel comfortable with if the starter goes down but takes a lot of 3's...for the vet min.
Pat Connaughton from the Blazers. Athletic unproven shooter. He could be one of those guys that turns into a relative gem. He is a RFA but they might even just let him go with their salary issues.

Snell could be a worthwhile RFA target. I listened to the Duncd on podcast discuss Snell and the Bucks cap situation. They made it seem like keeping Snell would be difficult for them if it's a deal north of 10 million.
