- Another blow out win at home. These are great wins and it gives our starters some much-needed rest, but man, it gives us the illusion that we're a lot better than we really are.

- Hummel needs to can those 3's. He was missing wide-open ones all night. His usefulness becomes very tenuous if those things aren't dropping. Obviously it didn't impact the game tonight, but it was still not encouraging.

- You gotta shake your head at Rubio's shot. The kid is now shooting north of 40% on his 3's for the season, yet he'll sometimes miss wide open shots by a mile. I think he had one shot tonight hit the right side of the backboard....didn't even hit the rim. And he wasn't even challenged on it. The other night against the Clippers he air-balled an unchallenged 3. It doesn't give one confidence that his decent shooting from beyond the arc is sustainable when he sometimes misfires by > than a foot!

- Dieng had 5 points, 3 rebounds, 3 blocks, and an assist in 8 minutes of play. Granted, it was garbage time, but the guy is a major presence defensively. I still have confidence that he can be a factor for us eventually. Not sure if it will have to wait for the next season or two, but eventually he can be a factor.

- Kidd will be fired before the new year.

Kidd's part owner and one of the best players the Nets have ever had. I doubt he gets fired regardless of the fact that he deserves to be.

Fine, he gets "promoted" to special assistant to the GM then.

Hummel has been excellent this year, but nobody including our own Love and Martin are ON every game.

He should take the money and run if they do because with three of their next five first round picks traded away and that gray bearded roster they are going to be trash for a long, long time!

SP, Hummel has shown promise, but he has not been excellent. He's shooting 40% from 2 and 32% from 3... and that's before tonight's game. We've seen a 3 or 4 game stint where he played some decent ball. I don't mind seeing a guy miss a few, but he had multiple wide open looks from the corners. I'm obviously not writing him off, but it's just disappointing. We really need another 3-ball shooter and I'm not sure if Budinger's shot will be back this season.

Hummel had an off nite shooting theres no arguing that, but what I like about the guy is he's always hustling and he always seems to make the correct pass out there.. It doesnt bother me when a guy has an off nite shooting when you know said guy is a good shooter. Rubio , Shved and Williams on the other hand.....

Hummel looks like the type of player that the Spurs would have on their bench.. While not the perfect player he doesnt make alot of negative plays out there.. If his shot isnt falling hes contributing in a positive way in other areas.. Hes a keeper if only the 3rd or 4 guy off the bench..

I agree to a point Q, but the three ball comes and goes even for the best. Love and Martin have been missing them at a similar pace of late, they'll come around as will Hummel. When I say Hummel has been excellent I'm taking into account his experience, role, and just recent insertion into the rotation in that assessment. This would be his first truly bad game if you discount the first couple given his limited minutes, role, and the fact they were his first on the big stage. I don't think it's fair to expect the best out of a player night in, night out, and that counts double for a green rookie!

Hummel sucks. Hustling and nothing more should not get you burn in a 12 man roster. That is for the 4th line in hockey.

As I said earlier in this thread, Hummel has the potential to be a Fred Hoiberg for this team! Hoiberg was physically limited, but like Hummel he was a high IQ player with a nice shot. I'm not saying he'll be able to fully fill Hoiberg's shoes, but he has that potential!!

If that's all you think Hummel does, we have very different views on him as a player.

That was all he did in 23 mins tonight. If his shot isn't falling there is no point in having him in the game, he just isn't good enough to justify it.
