Well, three posters (sjm, cool and lipoli) went public with their vote to keep both Bennett and the pick, and even though I didn't post in this thread, I think I probably voted that way too. I'll let the fifth guy speak up for himself. I'm quite happy with having Thad on our team right now, but if we are not able to extend him at the end of the year, giving up a first round pick for one year of Thad might seem like too great a price.
What I want to know is this: Who are the two guys who voted to keep the Miami pick, or in other words, give up Anthony Bennett for one certain year of Thad Young?????? Cam, we know that you are one of them, but I want the second guy to step up and identify himself. And I want both of you to say whether you still would rather have a pick in the low 20s over Anthony Bennett, and why!
Pretty sure my vote was to keep both as well. I wasn't against getting Thad, just didn't want to give up either of those assets in order to do so especially on a guy that very well could end up a 1 year rental. It's still too early to tell yet, but the Heat are currently sitting at 14th worst. That pick could end up being big depending on how things shake out.

As sure as you are that Bennett is a bust and Thad isn't a bad player, that is how sure I am of us never winning a damn thing with Thad as our starting 4 in the West. You just can't get away with playing small in a conference stacked with quality size. So at the end of the day if we take into account your opinion and mine, neither of them should be on the team moving forward so it is a mute argument for either one. Winning is the only thing that matters and we won't be able to win with either of them.

Yeah I voted to keep pick over Bennett. Bennett just lacks the "It" factor and he's grossly overpaid. Miami pick would cost us much less and we could have gotten another big.
