KG gives us another guy who is going to give a crap whether or not we win. We need ultra-competitive guys like him to instill that in the young guys on the team through his actions on and off the court. He doesn't need to put anyone under his wing and it never hurts to bring in more guys who give a crap and also instill the value of teamwork on a team. JJ is not going to be a positive influence on Lavine as he pretty much killed all of Shved's potential because his ultra-competitiveness wasn't based on teamwork, but him playing hero-ball and being a black hole . Bud can't stay on the court and Robinson is going to be able to shoot just as well as him at a much cheaper price point while having more athleticism. Shved just never worked out here. Whether or not you believe he was out of position during his time here, I think he needs a change of scenery and getting him back with AK 47 and Prokhorov could help revive his career. That's not a lot of value we'd be giving up for another body in the front court which we need. KG can still shoot and he can protect the rim for 15 minutes a night to keep us from overworking the other players. None of us are the same person we were 10 years ago, so I don't get how you can still envision him being the same player and person in 2014-15 that he was in 2004-05. We need a backup big and backup PG on this team, so you have to sign one and trade for the other.

This factor would outweigh any positive mentoring a player could provide. You could probably count on one hand the players who seemingly cared night in and night out whether the Wolves won.

Looking at our roster, I'd say the only guys not overpaid are Love, Rubio, Bazz, Dieng, Brewer, and Turiaf. It's not a good thing when half your team is over paid.

Meeks and morrow are not the same type of player. Meeks is a more rounded player while morrow is a specialist. I can see morrow being signed up for 3m or even a little less than that. However i dont see flip going after him or any sg really. We probably make our moves once the live situation is resolved and the free agents we mught target are probably a backup pg and pf.

Why do you think Meeks is more well rounded? Both are 3pt specialists, their career rebounding, assist, PPG, are basically identical. In my eyes they are the exact same player, I don't put any stock in Meeks running and gunning in D'Antoni's wacky system last year either.

Volans, You need to watch them both play for a whole game for a few straight games to see the difference. Yes, they have identical stats but there are a lot of players with near identical stats in the league and you cant base it on stats alone. Meeks has been a starter at leas half of his career and a rotation guy. Morrow has been a bench guy and at some instances, even fall out of the rotation on some teams. Both have not played on very good teams so you can rule out that argument although meeks has played on playoff teams more.

You can take it from how the league views them. Detroit sign meeks for 6m a year. overpaid? yes. Morrow wont get an offer like that I can guarantee it and most in the league will offer more or meeks than morrow. Morrow gets 3m/yr at the most in my view.

I would suggest you pay attention to Lip's posts regarding KG. The one thing I would add is that he has more likely become worse since leaving here rather than having matured some. Lip, I liked how you described him as immature which suits him perfectly. Here are a few more adjectives I would use:

Prick, Sonofabitch, cocksucker, asshole, dumbass, racist, bully, pinhead, douche bag, chicken shit, moron, cretin, testicle, hinder, lily liver, pussy, felcher, ball sniffer, simpleton, jerk, divot, balloon knot, and rusty bullet hole

I think that about covers it. And don't throw what Keyon Dooling said out here. We all have eyes and most of us know if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck.

I'm sure you have access to youtube. Search Kevin Garnett - Bully. After you spend a few hours watching let me know if you have any more questions

You're the only one here throwing around the word hero, along with overreacting over the fact that KG was a big smack talker. Big deal, he has always been a model citizen and the vast majority of the players he's ever played with like him that's all that really matters. KG was one of if not the most competitive player on the court every night and that's the first thing I ask for as a basketball fan, he's the only player to ever give the Wolves any type of relevancy and if he didn't come around I don't think we would even have an NBA franchise anymore.

Livingston has agreed with the warriors for full midlevel. Good deal for the warriors. He can play with curry and will be solid as the 3rd guard behind curry and klay(if they dont do the love trade).

Gortat also agreed to stay at washington for 5yr 60m. Yikes, Thats the same deal pek signed. I guess thats going to be the going rate for quality but non all star starting centers in the league.
