Bennett May think he's a SF, but last year he played PF 73% of the time

I was also looking at some of the message boards for the Cavs and 76ers, both have pretty unrealistic expectations

Good to see some of you are excited about getting Derrick Williams-- err -- Anthony Bennett back in the Kevin Love trade. We need more reunions. Just when I thought he got away, we pull him back in! :dizzy:

Cam I'd be lying if I didn't see some of those similarities too. I think Bennett's a better ball handler that can get to the hoop more often than D Lion.

I finally voted I went with Wiggins Bennet and other. I assume we are getting at least 1 pick but I have no idea which one.

After seeing the voting I am a little surprised that out of 28 people nobody voted for TT.

That's a bad comparison. The two share very little in common other than the fact that both play the same position and had poor rookie seasons. Of course we could mention a lot of good NBA players who had poor rookie season. Deron Williams comes to mind.

The two look different are built different and have different games. Derrick is clueless on the court. Bennett is not. In fact, Bennett appears to have good court awareness and real basketball instincts in contrast to Derrick's complete absence of basketball instincts. Derrick had a full two years in college to prepare for the NBA while Bennett had only one. Bennett is stronger, wider and a better ball handler than Derrick.

I don't know, I think it's even more surprising that two people think the Sixers would give up their next year's 1st rounder!

Williams: 6'7.25", 248 lbs, 7'1.5" wingspan
Bennett: 6'7", 239 lbs, 7'1" wingspan

College stats year prior to declaring for draft, age 19 for both

Williams: 19.5 PPG, 8.3 RPG, 59.5% FG, 56.8% 3P (1.1-1.9 3PA), 75% FT (6.5-8.7 FTA), 1.1 APG, 1.0 SPG, 0.7 BPG, 7.9 WS (6.0/1.9), 32.9 PER

Bennett: 16.1 PPG, 8.1 RPG, 53.3% FG, 37.5% 3P (1.0-2.7 3PA), 70% FT (5.2-7.5 FTA), 1.0 APG, 0.7 SPG, 1.2 BPG, 5.7 WS (3.5/2.3), 28.3 PER

Both are tweeners. Both rely on their jumper far more than they should. Neither have a back-to-the-basket post game. Based on the eye test (you can disagree), both are in love with the idea of being a perimeter player when it's clear they'd have more success living in the paint utilizing their athletic gifts. Both Williams and Bennett are poor ball movers aka black holes on offense. Neither are good on defense, having trouble with the quickness of SFs and the strength/size of PFs. Both feasted at the college level due to being more athletic than everyone else, but in the NBA they'll need more than that to be successful.

But it's a "bad comparison". Okay.
