The Minnesota Timberwolves stand to save $26.5 million in payroll and luxury tax penalties if they don't take on any additional salaries in this trade.
They are still set to be over the $188.9 million second apron this season. They're $14.5 million above it with 15 players.
Second rate organization, that acts like they really won something when they just made it to the WCF. Wolves will be worse this coming year and won't make it past second round. TC cashed away our future for shit.

I could go back and look, but isn't this your exact reaction to the Gobert trade?

The team belongs to Ant, Jaden, and NAZ. I love KAT the person a lot more than KAT the player. We will be okay.
No, we will never win a title. Naz is overrated and Jaden is a nice 4th option. Loser TC has traded away our assets.
NAZ going to average 20 this year, Jaden will take another step like he did in the playoffs.

You mean like Dlo and Vando?
I can definitely see Connelly moving Randle for some sort of value like he did with Russell. Randle is easily a better player.

I think they will be able to rest Conley and Ingles more now. Having a guy like Donte will make it easier to mix in some young guys with him on the floor.
So does Donte wind up bumping NAW out of the rotation? Especially if Rob is finding some success with limited minutes at PG?
Donte has been in 4 places now, he's okay but nothing to get excited about. NAW is going to play a lot because of his defense.
Isn't Donte is a positive on defense as well? The Wolves now have options of guys to play with both or they could maybe even deal one of the for value during the season.

This is all the makings of us eventually acquiring Kevin Durant right? Right!?
By then he'll be like 40, even more injury prone and vastly overpaid.

I'm not so sure. NAW was a big contributor to our lousy bench production in the playoffs. Donte is really quite an upgrade over NAW. His shooting also makes him a better pairing with Rob. I am really warming up to that part of the trade.

DLO trade was the only good one TC made. Essentially every first round pick we have is controlled by another team. OKC will rule the west and San Antonio will salivate with two Wolves lottery picks. Wolves are run by idiots. Nothing has changed.

NAW's definitely a fringe rotation guy unless Rob's redshirting his rookie year.
The guy who has no future here now is Shannon.
