Finch apologized for not using TJ correctly. Like many of us have said the entire season.

I'm pretty sure Finch was kidding. Not everyone can have the ball in their hands on offense. Ant, Randle, Jaden, Naz, Ayo all are better with the ball in their hands at the top of the key.

The point I saw was using TJ the wrong way. Having players stand in the corner as an offensive plan makes it easy on the defense to sag. Especially if the guy in the corner cannot hit the 3. Finch has appeared to be calling actual offensive plays more often with Ant out. The ball movement has been exciting to watch and forces the defense to move, which helps a ton against a set defense. These are a few of the reasons I went with a low B for his grade, as he didn't do any of those things during the regular season. Maybe he is learning that he can assert some control when Ant isn't there. Maybe Ant is watching and learning like Randle did when he was out.

I watched TSJ earlier I. The season he did not look like the same player as we are seeing right now. The burst wasn't the same. Meanwhile he did shoot the 3 really well overall this season and that was one of the questions about him going forward.

One of the things I like about Finch is while I think he is pretty confident in what he does he doesn't take himself too seriously and this quote is sort of an example of that.

Again keep in mind this is the coach that took a guy like NAW and made him a pseudo PG and got him paid.

Yeah I think this is the right attitude. They have been on a nice run this playoffs. I think by any measure their effort was lackluster this regular season. Imagine if we unlocked TJ like this in December rather than now? Everyone should be really happy about that Denver series and last night was a great game, but that doesnt erase the regular season. If they can win a chip Finch is more than vindicated, but meeting the same level as last year isnt improvement.

I kind of wonder as MN sports fans (I think most of us) we have MAYBE seen the Twins win it all what 35 years ago in 1991? We haven't seen one of our male major pro sports teams ever win it, and not even compete in the finals! Maybe the Stars were in the Finals in the early 90's also? IDK don't remember.

And especially as Wolves fans, we probably can't even comprehend that we could win the entire thing!!! That has to be the continued goal here. Not a game 1 series win in round 2. That's not even what we did last year nor the year before.

There is a youtube vid worth watching about how we are the most beaten down city/state fanbase that has all 4 major sports. It's so true as well. Think about it, sure we lost Hockey for a few years but were now pushing 0 for 135 or so! Zero Championships in all those seasons!

If they beat SAS in say, 5 or 6 games and then play a competitive series with OKC while still losing that is improvement in my mind even if on paper it looks basically the same.

Through 7 playoff games they have played substantially better than they did last post season. Not everyone may remember this, but the fact was, they didn't play consistently well or with great effort in those first two round despite winning both in 5.

This year's team is winning through connectivity, teamwork, hustle, great culture and great coaching. Regardless of results, that is a great process that will continue to lead to more winning

The curse of demanding constant improvement. Capitalistic and cancerous. Should OKC fire ther coach if they don’t win it again? Is context important at all? Perfection is the enemy of good. And since perfection is unattainable there has to reach a point that improvement for the sake of improvement is detrimental to being good. High level stuff here I know.

I dont see how I am demanding perfection. I think the majority of the board predicted the wolves to win above 49 games. The regular season was mediocre. They played great in through 7 games in the playoffs. Whether or not you want improvement is up to you, I think its a reasonable expectation considering the core of our talent being their age and relative stages of their careers. Finch has gotten a lot out of Ant, Jaden, and TJ these last few games. He's making up for a disappointing regular season where a portion of that disappointment should fall on him in my opinion. Id rather be wrong all together as a fan, but Im definitely not looking for perfection.

Sorry for the hyperbole, but you claim that meeting last years level of confrence champ series isn’t good enough and you need to see improvement. Sure that’s not saying you need to see perfection….its just a saying. What my problem boils down to are the “fans” that NEED to see something at all. You think you deserve a title why? And you are saying a coach deserves to be fired for not getting the team there? I can’t speak to you specifically on every point but just the type of argument I see that is bothersome. People say players determine more than a coach but we should fire a coach first?
