Worst case scenario in my mind for the Wolves is being forced to choose between Fox and Markkanen...
I'm curious.
What is making you warm up to Monk?
Why is Fox a worst case scenario?
The lack of a 3-point shot for Fox is a real downer for me, especially on this Wolves team with Rubio and Dunn already in the backcourt.
Markkanen's game seems so one-dimensional that it might be difficult to play him against small ball lineups.
With the league trending to small-ball, having multiple guards who can shoot seems like the way to go. I am confident Thibs will be able to fit Monk into the rotation along with Rubio, Zach, Dunn and Wiggins. If our consolation prize in the draft is backcourt shooting, I can live with that.
I will also add this: we have talked about the wisdom of adding JJ Redick. I see a lot of similarities between JJ Redick and Monk, except Monk is more athletic...
I think Collins is available at our pick pretty much guaranteed so I'm not worried about Monk or Markannen being the only options on the board. Just take Collins.

Thanks Tim for the reply.
I feel pretty much that way about Monk. It isn't ideal as there are only so many minutes but if Monk could guard PGs he could easily play with Dunn. Monk is small though so his ability to defend PGs could be key. He really is PG sized he is a few inches less long than guys like CJ and Jamal Murray. Your comp to Redick is pretty much dead on. Its kinda amazing he has been able to be such a worthwhile defender with his measurables. That can be overcome. What I am reading right now Monk seems to put in the effort on that end it may be more about his physical tools/lack thereof that limit him there.
It doesn't sound like there is any chance of Fox falling that far. I feel more confident than you in his ability to hit jumpshots. His shot looks plenty good. The kinda hilarious thing is he is the best FT shooter percentage-wise of all the top PGs but he has concerns about his shooting.

Isaac AND Jackson both still yet to be placed in that scenario, of course it hurts that we dropped down a spot even more but what is the Suns or Magic fall in love with Tatum or Dennis Smith Jr? I think the suns likely take Jackson or Isaac but the Magic are the wildcard

I think Jackson goes to the Suns and Isaac to the Magic in that scenario leaving us Tatum. Personally I would look to trade Tatum because he doesn't really fit here short or long-term. If we can't find a trade partner keep him and let him be the sixth man who carries the bench scoring until the right deal comes in place. Maybe Tatum and Dunn are enough of a starter to land Butler without giving up one of the big 3.
