But if the Wolves want to sign GRIII or another veteran free agent, they'll have to trade at least one other current roster player without getting a guaranteed contract in return or trade multiple current roster players for fewer players in return.

Bottom line is that the Wolves will trade at least one current roster player in addition to Love before training camp even if they do buy out Shved.

Barea's gone. I expect Mbah a Moute and/or Shved to also be gone.

Personally, something like this is what I'm hoping for.
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=l8u8d3n

Wolves: Wiggins/Lucas (exp)/Bennett/Thompson/1st even if it's the Cavs own in 2016
Cavs: Love/Bud/Moultri/2nd
Sixers: Barea/LRMaM/Shved/1st or 2nd(s)

Thompson more defensive than Young & the Wolves would have more control over keeping him while Young can just walk. Moultrie to give the Cavs a young backup PF. Sixers get expiring salary that they can use this year and a pick or 2.

I was also trying to come up with teams who would want JJ off the bench, but so many of them already signed vets as backups.

LeBron hasn't talked to Wiggins ONCE since he was drafted. Hmm. That's quite telling.

Yes. Just another of many signs that a Love for Wiggins deal is around the corner. LeBron not mentioning Wiggins in his open letter. LeBron never contacting the Cavs prize #1 pick. Love pulling out of Team USA. Bennett pulling out of Team Canada. Glen Taylor's comments yesterday. Wiggins saying he just wants to play for a team that wants him. And how about Wiggins long pause after being asked if he thinks Cleveland wants him?

I think we all know that Love will be traded for a package from Cleveland that will include Wiggins, Bennett and some salary filler, e.g., Murphy and Lucas. The only question is whether there will be more to the deal, including whether a 3rd team will be involved, what players/picks would be exchanged with the third team as well as what, if any, future draft picks the Wolves will get.

At this point I'd be surprised if the Sixers aren't involved. When the dust settles on this upcoming deal, I expect JJ and at least one other Wolves player to be gone and Thad Young to be a Timberwolf.

Yes! This deal (assuming it happens) and the LaVine pick have convinced me.

If what is quoted above is all he said then I don't see how the NBA could do or say anything. He has every right to suggest the team will trade one of its own players and if they want to forecast when so be it. He would be in hot water if he was being detailed in what they are getting in return and he didn't do that. It's just kind of a funny way for him to say they're getting Wiggins without ever actually saying they're getting Wiggins!
