Don't understand the love for Jordan Hill, especially with Cole Aldrich now on the books. Would only add to our glut of mediocre bigs.

Anyone know if we can Amnesty Pek next year?
Huh!?!?!?!
We can't. David Kahn wasted our one amnesty in Darko to make cap space for Brandon Roy and Batum! So we're still haunted by Mr. Kahn.
Thought I heard there was something available in 2017, but maybe it was all talk.
They're gonna re-negotiate the CBA in 2017 so there will probably be another amnesty clause for deals made under this CBA.
By that time Pek's contract will be done anyway.

As much as I like Aldrich if we signed Jordon Hill he would probably be the 3rd best big on the team (not expecting much from KG). The Wolves don't really have a ton of good players that are bigs. Jordon Hill isn't amazing but he is a fringe starter type that can do the dirty work but also is able to score some.

I suspect this is another indication that Thibs isn't expecting anything from KG and Pek, and isn't an AP fan. If that's all true, we could use Hill for big man depth.
I like both Hill and Aldrich, but Aldrich had a much better year last year...I would expect him to be ahead of Hill on the depth chart. Much better defender, and more efficient scorer.

Jordan Hill? Zgoda mentioned Willie Reed as a target and I like him better than Hill since he is more efficient in limited minutes and is younger and hopefully we could sign him for real cheap.

Ray Allen is contemplating coming out of retirement to play for Golden State.

He was more efficient last season... but not by that much. Especially considering that Hill was playing consistent minutes almost every night for a playoff team and Reed was playing spotty minutes about 1/2 the time against reserves for one of the league's worst teams.
Reed is only 2 years younger. He's 26. At age 26, Hill had his best season... 17/13/55% fg (per 36) in LA.
Reed is still learning how to play in the NBA. Add him to a collection of other young guys who don't really know what they're doing yet.
Is money an issue right now for this club if it's a short deal?

The only guys left who I'd pay more than 5 Million for would be JR Smith, Crabbe and Ezeli. None of the other guys move the needle enough to pay much more than the minimum on a 1 or 2 year deal. I also want to have the flexibility to add someone if we can use our capspace to facilitate a trade and pickup future picks. Also if someone gets cut and we want to add them to our roster, we could cut our 14th or 15th guy without much of a cap hit.

Call me crazy but I would bring back Chase if he'd agree to something around 3 million.
