Possibly not, hard to know, but it was reported some of the reason the GM was fired was because he could acquire a PG.
I'm also not trading tyus because his return will not equal his production
Wow. If it wasn't 130am where I am, I could really go on for a while on that one. It's Tyus Jones. Max Kepler is jealous at how you guys overrate him.

If not, its no real issue for us. Let taj walk. Let teague choose to stay here for one more year or not.
Yep and then in 2020 our roster looks like.
Towns
Wiggins
Gorgui
Okogie
KBD
option on tyus
Option on Patton
2019 1st rd rookie
2019 1st rd rookie
2019 2nd rd rookie
2020 1st rd rookie
So we would have cheap young talent. Gorgui expiring, some cap space and still 3 Houston picks to come

He's no starter, but the guy is a great backup pg. A healthy track record of few mistakes and good defense. The only thing that is worrisome about him is the contract offered to him.

Haha. I don't think of tyus as anymore than a backup PG. I think he is a pretty good one but nothing more. I just don't think we would get strong value back for tyus where it is worth trading him

If there's a logjam at the 1, PHX is more likely to trade for Tyus. I just don't think anybody wants Teague right now. If he starts playing better, or when he becomes an expiring, but not now.

There's something funky with Teague's contract. If you try to trade him using the ESPN trade machine the trade always fails. So I'm not sure he's tradable as a practical matter.
There are three players on the Wolves roster I would not trade: KAT, Okogie and Tyus. I'd be reluctant to trade Taj because I like his leadership and his contract expires the end of this season.

You too with the Tyus? Can I watch Kepler and Jones wrestle on PPV for the title of most overrated? Special Guest Referree Richard Pitino? I starting to like this.

That trade machine becomes less reliable every year.
Teague can be traded, but I don't see many (any) suitors outside of Phoenix. Ask for a first, settle for 2-3 seconds. If they don't accept that then just keep him and hope he doesn't opt in after Jimmy and Taj are gone.

If a trade goes down with HOU that has MIN taking back Knight, causing a logjam at PG, then just move Teague for matching wing/post salary and call it a win. No one wants him. I would love to get value for him the same way I want the Vikes to get a 7th rounder for each of the 37 guys they cut in camp, but you have to be realistic.

Tyus isn't great, but he does hold value. Doubtful he returns a 1st, and a 2nd back for him is not worth it. His salary isnt large enough to absorb a big expiring + a pick either. He is cheap, capable, and has some upside.
You'd likely only focus on this aspect if I didn't add this prior to the next statement, but it is warranted - he is a hometown kid. That does mean a lot for an organization as it goes through a change. Keeps some butts in the seats.
