Nellie Cruz with the grand slam! Good guys up 6-0 early.

It's a shame that we don't get to watch this man for 10 more years. It's been pleasure to watch him swing the last 3 years.
Also I'm too young to see Carew play but I have to imagine you got the same feelings as when Arraez hits. I never think he's going to make an out.

You sure we're not going to watch Nellie for another 10 years...is he slowing down at all ;-) ?
Nice to see that Rocco has figured out what so many have thought for awhile...that he is a natural for the lead off spot. I'm a little concerned his .647 OBP may not hold up though! Good news just like Buxton yesterday...just a little upper gastro-intestinal problem is the word. Sure looked like a pectoral muscle problem and those can really linger, so it's a relief to hear he's just not feeling well. Carew? yeah. Maybe Tony Gwynn too. This kid is special.

Rooker will prove to be a fan and clubhouse favorite soon if he's not already. The guy just made a fantastic diving grab in the outfield here in the ninth inning of a game that's decided by 14 runs. He did not need to sell out and go for that ball. What a play. Good stuff, Rook.

Randy Dobnak getting absolutely rocked in the final frame of a blowout. Come on, man. Get this last out so we can move on.

Fun stat of the day.
The Tigers used six pitchers today. The only one who did not allow a hit was infielder Harold Castro.

Should never talk about letting go of Cruz becuz of his age. Even with decline he brings much to the Clubhouse. His approach at the plate is something Sano can learn a lot from.

I'm old enough to remember Carew playing for the Angels. I have a specific memory watching what I believe was an Angels playoff game in the basement of our house with my dad, brother and Grandpa in the basement on a little black and white TV because my mom had a Tupperware party upstairs.

What a debut for former Twin Baddoo. I had to look up what the situation was with him and his story is pretty incredible especially if he can continue to be a solid major league player the rest of his rookie season.
That was a good win. It's good to see Shoemaker get off to a good start.

Buxton just hit another no-doubter. This one to tie the game here in the eighth inning. If this is the kind of hitter he's going to be this year, go ahead and bet on his MVP odds. My goodness.
