Do you honestly think ANYONE is taking anything away from this game long term? Why would you say something so stupid?
Are you trolling? I found this form as a pleasant respite from the troll boards of ESPN back in the day. Cool's antagonist responses lately seem odd for the board. Maybe deliberately so? The guy is in his 40s or 50s, right? His responses in recent weeks seem to belie that. I don't want this to cause more drama than necessary. I just find it interesting that he's chosen to go after Q (one of the more thoughtful, reasonable posters who actually tries to support analysis with supporting information).
In my experience, when guys deliberately rip guys like Q with generalities arguing vs. specific and even anecdotal points, they're usually deliberately trying to fuck with people. Just my take.
Cool, if you are trolling, cool. If not, I find your recent posting comical, amusing and sophomoric and I wonder how you use that sort of reasoning in real life situations at your age.
[note: i'm probably just trolling cool with the last sentence.]

It's easy to get excited about the Wolves' future after a weekend in which we got to see two very promising teenagers hoist trophies over their heads. And Zach won his title in historic, jaw-dropping fashion! Nobody is saying much about Bazz and Gorgui in the futures game, but both played and scored in double figures. To pair these four youngsters with Ricky Rubio along with another top five pick is an exciting proposition. I know this isn't a groundbreaking opinion...it's just that this weekends events makes out rosy future so clear.

First "futures" game I saw since the crowd booed Andre Miller for making layups instead of dunks. Or, maybe when J. Richardson bounced the ball off Boozer's head like an And 1 clown. Obviously, the Wolves inclusion had a lot to do with it.
I saw the last 15 minutes or so. I thought Dieng looked good, too. He tried to play defense in that environment a bit. And he dribbled the length of the court, switching hands at one point, for a lay-in. Obviously, there's next to nothing to be gained from an exhibition that plays very little like an actual NBA game. But, there's nothing negative with all four guys "looking" like they belonged. And there's nothing wrong with searching for silver linings in another lost season.
This weekend was definitely a silver lining and a positive... even if it means next to nothing in the grand scheme of things. It bolsters the fanbase... and that's a good thing.

I agree that the weekend was all good. But one sobering thought was on my mind as I watched our four guys excel in the futures game...Alexey Shved was a hot item after his performance in the futures game too.

Too late!
Isn't your entire post accomplishing exacty what you are calling Cool out on?
I understand Cool's frustrations. He is tired of reading the negative posts about our young players on issues that you would expect from them. It is even more infuriating when we see the same problems from our vets, while watching them encounter little to no consequences for their play. Guys like Thad and Mo playing 35-40 minutes in a game playing zero defense and posting below average offensive numbers to go along with it. Then we listen to Flip call out the younger guys and their inexperience, and have it regurgitated on here.
I think a lot of this banter is due to frustration with a lack of true direction for the team. Are we still trying (aimlessly) to win as many games as possible? Are we trying to rebuild, and if so, why are guys like Thad and Mo playing 35+ minutes a night?
While this game means very little in the way of NBA play, it is interesting to note that the MVPs over the last decade have usually gone on to become max or close to it type of players. Here is a list of past MVP's ...

I guess the "anomaly" known as Wiggins (yes that is directed at you Abe :)) may still have a small chance of making it big!

Of course not. I wouldn't spend any time on this board if that were the case with all the people, yourself included, ridiculously calling for his head.

Cam, at some point don't you have to ask yourself why you are the only person out of ten that favors keeping Thad?

Now we're playing the age card. I guess business is picking up in here.
