Yeah, I can't think of anyone whose effort I would question tonight. Skill level, perhaps, but not effort. And we can play much better than we did tonight. If we keep that energy level up (and it might even increase once KG arrives!) and injuries don't hit us again, I'm still saying this is a .500 team the rest of the way.

On a darker note, anyone who got stuck giving 2 1/2 points may be putting out a hit on KMart tonight...you don't figure him to clank two free throws when only one is needed for the cover!

I wondered if the 2nd one was missed on purpose to start the 1.7 running under the basket.

I think so, Tim...almost backfired on us though!

does Thaddeus get some of the credit for the win by just not being there?:)
Sorry, had to do it!

Hey, don't kick Cam while he's down... ;-)

Well, by that logic he may get credit for two wins tonight...because the Nets are beating the Lakers and he's not there either!
Seriously, we likely won the battle of the boards because Thad wasn't there. Maybe he might have been more successful defending Morris though...who knows?

The energy from Payne was terrific. I think it's going to be fun watching his game grow over these last 28 games.
(and I'll supply the napkins for everyone (well, most) of you to wipe the egg off your face!)

Tonight we won because Gorgui was terrific off the bench and then filling in as the starting PF from the second half on. Do we realize that you and Pork are still throwing jabs at Thad and for what reason? He's not even here anymore. I'm not even sure J.J. Barea got as much hate as Thad did/does. Makes no sense.
Game ball tonight goes to Kevin Martin. The guy can score 30 any given night and makes it look effortless. I have been on the "keep Martin" wagon since we signed him basically. Some of you have flip-flopped whether it was based on Martin's contract, age or durability. I continue to think he's an absolute bargain in today's NBA. Not to mention his defensive effort was clearly there tonight.
Ricky had a measly 10/14/8 game. Shot looked flat tonight. I expect him to bounce back after the first game back from the AS break. It's refreshing that he's still able to control the game when his scoring is rough. I think that gets knocked, his struggle to score, but he's just so damn effective in other facets of the game that you can live with it. How about that play with about 1:30 left in the game. He drives right, pulls Len away from the basket, Pek dives to the rim and Rubio rewards him, Pek has Len pinned under the rim, pivots and actually converts the clutch layup. Huge play.

I agree with you on Martin and Rubio, Cam. As for jabs at Thad making no sense -- I am pretty sure it is only for your benefit! :)
I think we saw more emotion from Pek than we've seen ever. KG effect?
