I was going to say yep no brainer a top 5 pick for Noel but looking at it more I have a couple of reasons for pause but damn I love watching Noel he reminds me of a young KG on defense he is a monster.
1. FT% it's not terrible but it's a concern.
2. Offensively I think he gets a little better as time goes on but it's a worry if he can score enough to be a threat.
3. Who is available to pick? Sure many people fall in love with the draft every year but maybe even at #5 there might be a really intruiging player available. I don't know that yet but it's still something to consider.
Bottom line though he is already a pretty nice player and still young enough (turns 22 in April) he could still develop his game. I'd be thrilled to get him I was just thinking about his game one day earlier this week.

I am intrigued by KLove 2.0
http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Henry-Ellenson-7234/
While other players mature physically and add weight to their frame, Henry Ellenson is getting in better shape and shedding pounds. He's down 12 pounds from this past June and 33 pounds overall from the first time he was weighed by USA Basketball in 2012. At 6-9 ½ without shoes, he's got great size for either the power forward or center position, and is as skilled a big man as you'll find at this age. Ellenson showed terrific ball-handling skills, footwork and perimeter shooting ability, along with the ability to score with either hand around the basket, often using the glass. His defense and shot-selection are things the Marquette coaching staff will want to work on, but it's easy to see why the USA Basketball staff is so high on him, going as far as to compare him to Kevin Love in private conversations.

Still like JAMAL MURRAY for this team too. He is being asked to do a lot this year.

Not that impressed with Murray. I prefer Kris Dunn, he is the best point guard in college.

I like Kris Dunn a lot too. I'm tempted to say that I want him over anyone in the class. He's experienced, he's a complete PG (scoring/facilitating/rebounding/elite defender). And he's a really hard worker from what I've read and seen so far. Leading Providence to the tournament this year for sure.

Kris Dunn has to be in everyone's top 3 right now. There really isn't a complete package player in this draft, but he is the closest to it. He is a decent shooter/scorer (which on our team at PG would seem elite) so he has to work some there, but he plays great defense, rebounds, and passes very well.
Simmons, Dunn, and Ingram for me at this point. In that order.
Cam - I'm also interested in what you think about Valentine as a prospect. I know you are a big Michigan fan, so I figure you have paid plenty of attention to him. Or at the least you have heard plenty about him. What's your breakdown of him as a player/fit for this team? Personally, I would love to see us pick up an extra pick around 16-22 to get him for this team.

I like the idea of Dunn for this team over someone like Noel. It would be strange that he would actually be older then Wiggins, Towns, and LaVine his rookie year, but this team needs a true PG and he looks to be the bet in this class and should be a top 15 PG in the league for years to come.

I think their will be 5 or 6 good young players and I wouldn't trade our pick for Noel unless we are picking after all of them are gone. I would be concerned that if Philly is willing to trade him, there is some baggage there plus we lose three years of rookie contract, so I wouldn't give up a top 5 pick.

What is it with you and saying players have issues if their teams are interested in trading them even if it's equal value? Noel and Okafor clearly don't fit together and Noel is already going to be looking for an extension next year. Trading away a guy because he doesn't fit is a common practice in the NBA. Why is it automatically a sign that something is wrong with Noel if they are shopping him? Maybe he just isn't what they're looking for as they build for the future.
