I'm not saying I see Dieng's contract as an untradeable albatross... but I see no reason why the Nets would want to pay Dieng + Mozgov $65M collectively over the next two seasons to have both sit behind Jarrett Allen. Especially since neither seems very conducive to the Nets fast-paced style.

I'd think they'd be able to get quite a bit more for their 2nd leading scorer on a large expiring deal + a borderline G League/NBA candidate and a decent enough #40 pick.

What about Bazemore for Dieng and the 20? Does he really want to be there for Atlanta's rebuild?

Guess it depends just how much they value that #20 pick. I'd imagine Collins is gonna get more run next year. And Dedmon and Muscala could possibly even be ahead of Dieng on the depth chart if they opt in this summer. Not saying they're better than Dieng... but maybe better fits for Atlanta's scheme.

Speaking of deadweight Big Men (Mozgov Division)... Atlanta still owes Miles Plumlee $25M over the next two years.

When do we start talking about trading Cole? Who is available at his salary? The other team can cut him and shave a chunk of change for their summer spending. There has to be a few options out there.

The thing with Cole we will only have 3 days to trade him. NBA season ends June 17th and his contract becomes guaranteed on June 20th.

If I was a GM i'm looking at the Hornets as a potential trade partner. They are in cap hell and not really going anywhere.

I would offer Taj and Aldrich for Batum and Kaminsky.

This trade helps the Hornets they get 4 mil in cap off the books at the time of trade, they would save another 5 cutting Cole. Also one year deal of Taj and he is still producing and his 14 mil comes off the books next year.

Wolves would get the often hurt army switch knife in Batum, he would be our 6th man but finish the game with Teague/ wigg/ batum/ butler/ towns. We also add Frank the tank who could start and spread the floor and he is still pretty young.

In general I think the wolves should be looking to move Taj. I love Taj and even though i like the signing he out did my expectations. He just had a career year at 32 and I don't think we can expect that again out of him. He is still a productive player and he is a 14 mil expiring so that should bring value around the league

Batum's contract (can opt into 27 million in 2020-2021) gives me significant pause especially when you look at the shooting percentages he has and I've read heard his defense is no longer and asset and he might actually be subpar now on that end. I would rather not have one large contract that probably sucks I would rather look to go te direction where you have a couple of them because they will be easier to move down the road. I will say I have also thought about various trades with him involved though (it does make some sense) but for some of the reasons I have stated here it just doesn't make sense for me. Sadly Taj is probably the best player in that deal.

Batum is one of these strange cases where he peaked two or three years into his career and ever since has been "meh". For example, what the hell happened to his 3-point shot!? It's been pretty mediocre for a couple years now.

I also think Taj is critical for the type of culture we're trying to build. I realize he probably can't give us the same minutes next season as he did this past season, but I just love the way he goes about his business. No nonsense....Very good example for KAT, who started the season flopping all over the place, complaining to the refs, and generally being a big whiny overdramatic b*tch half the time. He seemed to man up a bit as the season wore on and I think Gibson may have helped.

Good points Q and another funny thing is Taj's contract of 14 million for 1 more year looks like a bargain compared to Batum and Dieng. Yeesh.
