What ledge? I'm enjoying the comedy show.

I mean sweet we played bad against the clippers after beating the champs. It's preseason. The browns had won 8 straight preseason games coming into this year.

Read the negative comments carefully and they'll look familiar. They're the same comments we've written and seen the past two seasons. The only difference is that the Wolves had Jimmy Butler last season and won a lot of games. So this isn't just a reaction to this one game. This is a reaction to multiple seasons of an antiquated offense and terrible defense. Sometimes the result is worse than others, but it's nothing new.

We didn't exactly look good against the champs. Our second unit won the game against the Warrior's third unit. I actually thought our second unit played pretty well tonight as it did against the Warriors. But let's not kid ourselves. This is a lottery-bound team unless we do particularly well in the Butler deal and get a surprise change in head coach. Even then I have my doubts.

But I'll tell you I'm not frantic or teetering on the ledge. This is all pretty familiar. I'm used to it and almost amused by the comedy show we saw on the court from the Wolves tonight.

Okogie with 3 blocked shots and KBD was 5-6 and mostly looked pretty good and very smooth. Wiggins did have 2 blocks.

It's still a small sample, but based on Summer League and two preseason games, I'm impressed by Okogie and KBD.

They have looked promising and I think it's because they have looked good and that's partly why Nunnally is lower on the roster right now. I liked the bit I saw out of him last night his length looked a bit more legit that I expected.

Josh Okogie is one reason why I'm not so interested about Josh Richardson. I'm hoping Okogie will turn out similar or even better player than Richardson is.

If that happens, the wolves would have a great trade chip later on in Richardson.

As I've said repeatedly, it's highly unlikely Butler's value goes up from this point on. And there's more than a remote chance his value goes down. Meanwhile, watching T. Harris play tonight, I see his value going up.

We have to hope Pat Riley finally blinks and ups the ante for Butler before the regular season starts.

Or...a smart GM notices the difference between the Wolves with and without Butler, and realizes what an incredible difference maker he is. We're no smarter than many of the league's POBO's, and it's clear to most of us how much worse we are defensively without Butler.

Fair enough, kek, but it's two games now...and two recurring alarming trends are evident:

Butler-less defense: 71 points given up in the first half against the Warriors before Kerr called off the dogs. And 40 points given up to the Clippers in the first quarter. Not good.

Ball movement: 15 assists against the Warriors, as they more than doubled us. And only 12 against the Clippers as they TRIPLED us! This does not bode well for either the effectiveness or watchability of our offense.
