Here's an interesting stat, the wolves are currently on pace to win 50+ games, take the division, and host a 1st round playoff series

And everyone's doom and gloom all the while predicting low 40s wins for the year. It's tough to figure.

Here are the latest net ratings on our guys:

Gibson - +5.0
Bjelly - +3.1
Wiggins - +1.8
Butler - +1.4
Teague - -.8
Jones - -1.2
KAT - -2.2
Dieng - -7.3
Crawford - -9.8
Muhammad - -14.1

- Since I began tracking this after the first few games, Gibson has always been at the top and Muhammad at the bottom. Everyone else has floated around a bit.

- This is the first season Wiggins has been in the positive section. He's tied for 3rd on the team in Offensive rating and he's tied for 5th in defensive rating.

- The fact KAT and Dieng are both negative is NOT good. You'd want one of our Centers to be in the upper half of this group!

- Also, no wonder Thibs plays Butler and Wiggins so many minutes! Not getting that 3rd good wing could really bite us in the ass if either of these guys miss an extended period of time.

Of course, these individual ratings have to be taken in the context of who they are playing with and against while on the floor. But it's a nice data point to have along with the more box-score oriented stuff.

I think this really matches the eye test from what I've seen this year. It also seems to echo certain refrains here. Taj has been great, Belly should play more, and Wiggins has improved.

But I was told by someone here many, many, many times that Taj was not worth the money.

I think most the skeptics are coming around. Especially considering what we are paying Gorgui.

Just imagine the happy days once they're in the top two thirds of the league!

I was not a skeptic of Taj, but was a skeptic of the amount he was given and how that money could have otherwise been deployed. That being said, Thibs is leaning on him big time relative to his historical role. Believe it or not, he is averaging a career high in minutes per game.

We'll see how things play out with him as the season grinds on. We really need Dieng to get back soon and for him to start playing better, as I could see Gibson eventually wearing out a bit. He is definitely a hard-hat kind of player.
