I was at the Rio playing cards for Thursday's earthquake. Crazy feeling, never experienced that before. Was staying at the Venetian and really felt the 2nd one. I don't know how Californians do it!

Main event? You still in?

Not the main event, I'm a causal piker player. I'll play at Canterbury here and there. I went out there to play in some lower buy-in qualifier/satellite tournaments for the main, but didn't do well. I have a couple good friends who I was out there with that played the main, one if which is still in, day 3 tomorrow. They bought in directly, both are in a slightly higher tax bracket then I am;). I'm hoping I'll be going out in a week to watch the final table! The scene at The Rio is insane!

Ya that's sweet man. Massive bucket list item for me is to play in the main. I play in 250$ and lower events, I'm getting better (picked up my 1st physical trophy today) but I don't have 10k to burn to play in the main.

Good luck to your buddy hope he cashes and then runs deep

Thanks Geek, that's around my price range also, $250-500 range. Anything lower the structure is too quick. Congrats on the trophy! The main is a bucket list of mine also, great tournament and structure. The WSOP made a lot of changes this year. Added a lot of lower buy in tournaments with better structure, although I don't think the pros more serious players are happy but the number are way up this year in general at the WSOP. Hopefully we'll both get a chance to play the main one of these year.

Side note - the main structure is so good, both of my friends elected to buy-in at the start of day 2 to avoid the crazy, amateurish play early on.

Anthony Davis and LeBron have been sitting at the same table for breakfast at the Bellagio's Saddelle restaurant every morning since we've been here. Friday and Sunday we sat in the same section, but not especially close to them. Well, today we were seated in the table right next to their table. Unfortunately, AD and LeBron didn't show up. Makes me dislike LeBron even more. :)

Looking at this year's Summer League rosters, it's interesting to see how some top teams with elite veterans also appear to have some of the top young talent as well. The Nets were a playoff team last season and are going into this season with two additional future hall-of-fame veterans, Kyrie Irving and Durant. Yet, the Nets Summer League roster includes some terrific young talent, including Jarrett Allen, Nic Claxton and Jaylen Hands. The Celtics won 49 games last season led by very young vets - Brown and Jason Tatum. Yet they have talented newbies on their summer league roster like Romeo Langford, Grant Williams, and Carson Edwards as well as some intriguing young players like Tacko Fall, Tremont Waters and Onuaku. The Spurs won 48 games last season, led by vets like Aldridge and DeRozan but also with young Derrick White and Dejounte Murray. Yet, there summer league roster includes some really good young talent like Lonnie Walker, Luka Samanic and Keldon Johnson.

Is Culver playing tonight? I need something to feel optimistic about.

In all honesty, we should mentally prepare for being a worse team next year. We're losing Taj, Rose, Saric, and Tyus, and all four were good solid contributors last year. Tolliver and Deng won't be missed that much, but they were also pretty solid players when they got minutes. Hopefully getting more Covington plus some of these additions will help, but I'm feeling skeptical right now.

C'mon, Culver, give me something to believe in.

Ugh, God. Why can't I finally just give up on this fucking franchise? It's like being in a relationship where the other person just perpetually lets you down, but you just can't bring yourself to break up with them. This is such a small thing, but not even having this to look forward to makes me wonder why I bother.

.

And it'll all be KAT's fault. What a loser. Dude can't beat these teams?

- LAL with Davis and James
- LAC with George and Leonard
- Denver with Jokic and Murray and co.
- Portland with Lillard and McCollum
- Utah with Mitchell, Gobert and Conley
- Houston with Harden and Paul
- Pelicans with Holiday, Redick, Williamson, Favors, et al
- Spurs with Aldridge and DeRozan
- GSW with Curry and Green
- Kings with Fox, Hield
- Philly with Embiid, Simmons, Horford, Harris
- Milwaukee with Giannis and Middleton

That's only 44 games vs. obviously much better and infinitely more talented teams. KAT deserves to be known as a loser. He could average 46/18/5 but nobody should vote him for All NBA because he played hollow minutes on a losing team.

He hasn't practiced with the team yet. Hadn't played 5 on 5 since the title game. Didn't want to risk injury
