Seems like Embid is already unhappy with things in Philly

Sounds like they want to turn Embiid into kat.

Butler loves the midrange to the hoop, and yes, he can hit 3's, but he much prefers operating below the arc, so this isn't too surprising to me. Philly is playing great ball overall though, so the question is whether this is just a natural part of adjusting to a fellow great player or does the dissatisfaction foment and turn into something bigger at some point? I know what LST will think....

I just looked up Embiid's stats...so he hasn't shot the 3 well since his rookie year. His overall efficiency is nowhere near Towns. Looking at the shooting numbers from different distances Towns is a better shooter by a significant margin (I mean his 2 point percentages are in the Steph curry range) although he has struggled this year overall from longer 2's. Embiid's defense was the factor making him the better player. IF...that gap shrinks...well we have to see this play out. Meanwhile Philly may need more shooting than I thought.

Yeah, I've never believed or agreed with Embiid being a better player than Towns. Offensively, it's always been KAT and defensively it's been Embiid but not by the margin most people talked about it as. Defense, more than anything, is the sum of a team's parts because of the amount of rotating and helping that occurs. As we're seeing now, Embiid had two really good defenders surrounding him in the frontcourt, essentially boosting him up on defense. He's a fine defender himself, but not nearly the guy people used to draw a gap between him and KAT.

Embid is a bit more overwhelming physically that KAT. When he's on he dominates both sides of the ball and it takes multiple players to try and stop him. KAT has a wider array of offensive tools but he really isn't necessarily a better offensive player than Embid. I like KAT fine I'm happier with him on the team mainly because of the injury fear, but I don't think when healthy that he's at Embid's level in terms of production and gravity on the court. KATs efficiency does stick out though, if he can continue to be aggressive I think he could surpass Embid one day, it just hasn't happened yet.

Based on what? Towns has more moves, more skill, and better production. And as you alluded to, he's been more available than Embiid has been. Towns is literally in a class with himself offensively in comparison to historical bigs because of the combination of post play and dead-eye perimeter shooting. And while he's not the same 250 lbs that Embiid is, Towns likely has the edge in agility and balance. Those big feet of his can really move.

More than 2x the FT and more assists pg. Embid's agressiveness and team play makes them very comprobale offensively. KATs a better pure offensive player 1 on 1 skill wise, but Embid does a lot of other things to make him the superior player at present.

Jimmy out but the 76ers still get the win. Wolves of course lose to the Warriors. Let's see how they respond now that they've lost a few in a row

So the Jimmy Butler / JJ Redick podcast is up. Here's the transcript:

https://www.theringer.com/2018/12/11/18136098/jimmy-butler-timberwolves-76ers-third-string-practice-secret-detail-jj-redick

Makes everybody that we started to hate just-a-little-less... still imminently hate-able. I don't buy 1/2 of what Butler says at this point. And I think Thibs + Layden still have to go after what transpired.

It remains so very embarrassing and inept for everybody involved.
