FWIW Dallas would trade for Ricky in a heartbeat. He might have more fans in the Dallas front office than he does here anymore. They have been a good team without dynamic (in the sense of what many yearn for) point guard play for a while now. I'd say that he would probably thrive there. The question that the person is charge here should be asking is if the Wolves can replicate some of what Dallas is doing. It is going to start with coaching. Is there a Carlisle disciple that can be obtained? He looks like a lifer in Dallas so he is out of the question.

Who gives a shit if the team is better with him on the court than off? What's our career record with Ricky? What's the difference between losing by 10 and getting blown out? People have constantly been giving Ricky extra credit for his play compared to his backup. We're better when he's on the court than off. He's one of our better +/- guys. How about we stop comparing him to our backups and start comparing him to his peers which is how it should be. Does anyone here think he's a top 10 PG in the league? Top 15? Top 20? The league is in a golden era for PG's and we're sticking behind a wildly mediocre option watching guard after guard drafted after him in the following years surpass him. At some point this team not getting better is on Ricky not getting better. Ricky is the show runner. The primary ball handler. The floor general. If he doesn't get better, why is this team getting better? Unless you bring in someone to take over his primary ball handling role, this team isn't getting better no matter who you bring in around him because he's still the guy with the ball in his hands the most. He's still the guy running the show. We're stuck here because Ricky never got better so it's perfectly reasonable for people to be ready to move on from him.

Agreed. And it's been asked many times here.

The Wolves have never even been .500 with Rubio. That's not to say he's been THE problem. But that doesn't mean he's the solution either.

He is an average starting PG. At times, he plays well below average.
