Definitely.

But Muhammad would still arrive to the NBA as a guy without a position for the most part. He has the rebounding chops of somebody bigger... but not the outside game to separate from the pack for his size. Basically, he's almost like an undersized 4.

Hield seems to have at least one exceptional skill... shooting. Those guys tend to find a place in the NBA a lot of the time.

It's a good point but I also think it brings up a dichotomy. Some guys improve to take the next step and some guys basically don't (although with your scenario maybe Bazz would have improved more in college?)There are examples of top young prospects making the leap (even unexpectedly like Kevin Love) and examples of them flopping and the list is a sad one. On the other hand you have an older player like Curry who went bonkers on the getting better scale. It's not an exact science but it's fun to project but there isn't absolute rules and it's interesting to hear a variety of perspectives and when things play out remember back on some of the insight people had.

I was just point out that our trio of core players is at least 2 years younger than Hield. It would have been interesting to see them spend more time in college and what they could have done.

Not Top 45 protected. It must fall in the top 45 or it is extinguished. {per NBA Draft dot net}

Not terribly dicey. They can make the playoffs, and as long as they have the worst record of the 16 teams, MIN gets it. They are currently a game behind Utah with 8 to play and tied with DAL. Utah does have a tough schedule left, but DAL's isn't brutal. Maybe HOU passes UTA and DAL passes them both?

Every other site I have seen has that pick as top 45 protected and if it is 31-45 it's extinguished. My guess is they are mistaken/or it's written weirdly to make it seem the way you are thinking which is completely understandable.

You're right. The wording on some of these websites is english-challenged to say the least, but here is what I understand.

31 to 45 goes to MIN
46 to 60 stays with HOU
This must happen this year or MIN gets nothing.

But I have to say: Utah has a brutal schedule left, and HOU beating CLE certainly helps them get the 7th spot in the West. It looks like the best hope is DAL as the 7th seed, HOU as the 8th, and UTA missing the playoffs.
