Abe's I'm Supposed to be Working Right Now DVR Review:
- Anthony Edwards made a couple of huge three pointers late. It's great having a player good enough to pull that off. (Were they good shots or more of the Gilbert Arenas style that are recalled fondly because they're so loud?) That's probably a question for another day.
- Tonight will be interesting. Politics are a bigger part of pro sports than we probably realize. Money always matters. All NBA stuff matters. Reputation matters. Randle played only 23 minutes yesterday... and it was obviously the right move. He didn't have it and the ball popped more without him.
The Pelicans are a bad team. Randle is not a bad player, just a bad fit. I think it's more likely to see the Wolves feature Randle tonight than we are to see him play only 23 minutes.
- Last night was a fun game for anti-Harden people. Isn't it funny though how he gets called for those fouls more now than his star has fallen? Hmmm... has he become worse at flopping? That's very unlikely. So what else could it be?
- That was one of Conley's best games. He finally got his floater to fall and it was a revelation to see him use a hesi to get a layup at the rim. There's a chance he could have a mini-resurgence with this new role.
- Yes. Eventually... no PG will be a problem for this team. It's something that was pointed out earlier this season by multiple people on this forum. And during the offseason. And even last season.
- DiVicenzo has good moments on defense. He had a great defensive possession vs. Harden. Incredible. And then Norman blew right past him for an and-one the next trip. Sort of a microcosm of the entire team right now. They made that win harder than it needed to be (although nothing like what the Gophers would do to a win later in the night).
- Kris Dunn has started 25 games for the Clippers. It's pretty remarkable that team came into the game 20 - 15. Ivica Zubac is lowkey having a very good season. 17 pts / 16 reb / 6 blks last night. 15/13 for the season.
- Even with Leonard back... it would be a very bad season if the Wolves finish behind the Clippers.
- Tonight is an interesting game. Again, the Pelicans are bad. So a loss would negate any goodwill from last night's comeback and put the team right back into "Holy Shit, this is very bad" mode.
