As I suspected; we had no chance of landing Kornet. So now it’s on to Monster’s plan to find the next Luke Kornet; so I’ll ask Monster and anyone else who they think might be the next one?
Why not Rocco??? It may take a few years, but he is taller than Kornet so he certainly has the physical tools.
You know Rocco’s my guy. I was just thinking about next season. I do like what this team can be in two or three years with Ant, Jaden, TSJ, Clark, Dilly, Beringer, Rocco and maybe Miller.
Looking for the next Kornet means you might get a guy that can help this season not 2 or more from now.
Hartenstein and Kornet are both guys that came into the league with more excitement about their offensive skills than their defense. Both guys bounced around a while before turning into worthwhile defenders. Drew Eubanks is a lesser version of this as well. At one point a year or 2 ago he had some pretty good defensive metrics if I remember correctly. Him leaving the Suns is probbaly why they fell apart on defense. Lol OK that's kind of a joke but it may have been part of the problem. I don't know if I'll find this guy but I'll list some guys that might have a chance at breaking through in one way or another.
So we are looking for a guy that's played some actual NBA minutes not some guy out of the G-league although there are guys that have come out there too. Mo Wagner is an offensive center that I believe has become a nice enough rotation player for the Magic.
I'd really like MO Bamba to be one of these guys but I get the idea that while he is a good guy he doesn't seem to have figured out anything. I'm not against signing him though.
Jericho Sims is a guy I've liked for a while. He doesn't fit the profile from above but I thought I would add him in anyway. Idk how good he is and he might be sticking in Milwaukee as they have a need for centers and he will probably resign cheap. He is an absolute athletic freak. He is only a lob dunk at the rim guy in terms of offense but is really mobile. He is a little undersized but a bench center that has the athletic ability to switch onto guys. Sounds great. The Knicks had a lot of various guys and never really showed confidence in him but the guys above I listed teams didn't give them a vote of confidence either. I read one article Thibs said nice things about him...but what are you gonna do say he is trash when you are his coach?
Bol Bol is a guy that would fit the offensive to defensive thing. I think one of his big problems is staying healthy. He also has the measurements going for him that Kornet and Hartenstein have.
He doesn't fit the profile but Jaxson Hayes is another big former lottery pick guy that hasn't figured it out but might be a useful backup. I felt bad for him in the Wolves series.
I don't know how far Precious Achiuwa is in value around the league. He is a PF C guy that could be interesting.
Are you looking for a guy that rebounds the hell out of the ball and blocks shots and has reduced his fouls every year in the league? Charles Basset is a guy. He hasn't really payed enough to be that guy with legit NBA experience but after Ai saw some numbers I threw him in here.
I see my Day'Ron Sharpe dream is over with him staying with the Nets for 2 years 12 million. I didn't think he was an option but I had mentioned him in another post.
So...at this point I don't really have a guy I'm really convinced on. I'll probbaly do a little more research on this unless Connelly signs someone. I can't say Kornet was a guy I knew was gonna make the leap but I know a couple years ago he was trending in the right direction in term sof D which seemed a little surprising. Hartenstein I banged the drum for a number of years on. Still a little salty about that to be honest.

Connelly signed him in Denver and Malone didn't play him and so they traded him for McGee which wasn't a terrible move as McGee was actually pretty good for them and apparently turned into a valued vet teams wanted to have around.didnt I didnt see that coming either.
