While it’s true they played last night, they really shot the ball unbelievably well. We needed a poor shooting night from them to have a chance, but it wasn’t to be. On to the next game.
On paper you're right, there was a big disparity in their 3 point shooting. Philly hit a lot contested threes and the Wolves missed good looks.

The reality tho is that they got out hustled and out competed against a shorthanded team on a road back to back.

If they had lost close I wouldn't be bother but the fact that they continue to show this same caviler, we can flip the switch when we need to, approach at this stage of the season speaks volumes.

They have a chance to rewrite that narrative in the post all star portion of the season, and two games in its not promising and it's seems more likely it's just who they are. Which is disappointing cause this team can beat anybody, but refuse to take that seriously every night
I thought the Wolves came out with pretty decent energy to start the game, but the Sixers just freakin' made everything. It can be deflating.

I go back to my mini-theory that the inherent variability of 3-point shooting and its prominence in the game leads to more unexpected wins and losses than if there were no 3-point line. I mean, 50+ percent from 3 on that kind of volume is pretty tough to overcome.

Meanwhile, the Randle/Jaden shooting woes from 3 continue. The 45% from Jaden on the season was perhaps a bit illusory, but hopefully he finds the groove again.

Ayo through five games with a Net Rating of -10.9 with the Wolves and -4.5 on the season if you include the Bulls. At what point can this not be explained away or excused as statistically flukish?
I agree with all of the above. Sometimes in the NBA another team just shoots lights out. We were not terrible on defense, but I think we could have done better or more sure.

Ayo is a conundrum, lots of his stats would say it's hard to say he's a negative player and even watching him he looks fine, but then the net rating keeps saying so.

I haven't done a deep dive but I'm sure their are some maybe do shit metrics where he struggles. Rebounding/Hustling for loose balls, Stocks, etc... Maybe BB IQ plays? IDK.
