Finally showing up and doing what was expected all year after a terrible regular season doesn't get flowers from me!!!

Beat SA, OKC and then win the Championship and I'll have all the egg on my face. Until you do what is the ultimate goal, then I'm obviously not back peddling.

I'm still saying fire Finch because someone else could possibly get more from this squad. You win it all. Done deal. We'll see.
Yeah I think this is the right attitude. They have been on a nice run this playoffs. I think by any measure their effort was lackluster this regular season. Imagine if we unlocked TJ like this in December rather than now? Everyone should be really happy about that Denver series and last night was a great game, but that doesnt erase the regular season. If they can win a chip Finch is more than vindicated, but meeting the same level as last year isnt improvement.
The curse of demanding constant improvement. Capitalistic and cancerous. Should OKC fire ther coach if they don’t win it again? Is context important at all? Perfection is the enemy of good. And since perfection is unattainable there has to reach a point that improvement for the sake of improvement is detrimental to being good. High level stuff here I know.
OKC proved they can do it, we have not. Thats a mega difference. Perfection isn't chip either, someone every year is going to win it. Thats not perfection. Thats some team stepping up and grabbing it, most likely the best team of the season. Why not us? If your goal isn't chip then why even play?

I guess it's fine for some people to simply win a couple playoff rounds during the Ant era, then likely go back to being crap for another decade or two after he leaves. I want to see us reach the ultimate goal, not just be good. Who cares about good, no one remembers good.

Yeah i prefer results that you earn from the process and if our process is not showing improvement or regression then yeah changes will be made. I’m not advocating for enjoying mediocrity. I’m saying enjoy the damn fruits of doing it organically in an era that has shifted towards the organic improvement being the thing that works. We should fire the guy who has gotten this shit franchise to a place that people are starting to say we have a shot? Now is the time to panic and flail at an unknown coach? It’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard and if anyone says otherwise they are stupid and should be mocked to their faces. But that’s just like my opinion man.

BeenLurkin wrote: Tue May 05, 2026 4:45 pm Sorry for the hyperbole, but you claim that meeting last years level of confrence champ series isn’t good enough and you need to see improvement. Sure that’s not saying you need to see perfection….its just a saying. What my problem boils down to are the “fans” that NEED to see something at all. You think you deserve a title why? And you are saying a coach deserves to be fired for not getting the team there? I can’t speak to you specifically on every point but just the type of argument I see that is bothersome. People say players determine more than a coach but we should fire a coach first?
I think you're taking my opinion about Finch a bit personally and I dont know why. I think most fans have expectations of performance based on the talent that we see from watching a team. Finch has done a good job, but not a great job in my opinion. The original post was made in the regular season where I gave him a 70% which is a B-. I think it is totally fair to say this team achieved a B- in the regular season. I do think other coaches could do better. I am a person who thinks coaching matters. I don't "need" any of it, but want continued improvement from a young sports team that I am a fan of. I don't know that we deserve a title, but I do think we have talent that could compete for a title with great coaching. I really don't think you should be bothered by someone having that opinion but if so that is your prerogative.

You think his opinion is stupid.
I think you have added little to this conversation or others and come across as immature and incurious.

.... Just my opinion tho

You’re right, my apologies. I THINK the opinion of let’s give another coaching staff a chance with this roster to see what happens is insane and dumb and people that have that opinion are less than and not worth listening to. As far as incurious….not sure I follow.

Uhoh, more bans incoming? Did I dare to offend some softies? You all think it’s cool to call for someone’s job on a whim? That’s high character? But you have a problem with someone calling it out? See yall in the offseason I guess.

I could be wrong, but I think FNG was adding a bit of sarcasm to add some comic relief.

I'm not looking for reasons to ban anyone. Disagreements are fine, and even some insults. But keeping it sort of civil is all I ask. I'll confess I didn't read the prior posts with a fine tooth comb, but I didn't notice anything over the top.
