If they want Joan to play next year, you need to move one of the bigs
That's fair, but they need to 100% know Joan can contribute before making a massive move like that, or be willing to step back if it doesn't. Letting NAW go, and banking on Shannon and Clark was a disaster. Rudy will be 34 next season at some point his minutes are going to start going down. As valuable as he is to us, is it worth trading him while he has trade value or just keep going for as long as the wheels stay on for him. Naz despite getting a huge raise is actually playing 1.4 fewer minutes per game this year. I'm not opposed to the idea of leaning onto Joan next season, but we just need to be prepared that it might not work right away or even all of next year.
Well there's no way for them get 100% but at some point you just have to have the conviction to trust your evaluation.
I would be the least in favor of moving Rudy but it has merit. Naz would probably get the best return and if they don't think he can be a plus starter than they MUST move him in my opinion. If he can be a starter than you need to move Randle
Maybe Tim will just make the choice for Finch, like he did for Mike.

There are all sorts of reasons to move one or more of our bigs this offseason: 1) Salary relief to stay under the 2nd Apron and sign Ayo, 2) Joan minutes, 3) fit issues (Randle mostly), 4) add SF or PG depth with the potential departures of Conley and Bones, 5) need their salaries to make a big-fish trade like landing Giannis.

Etc.

I just find it hard to fathom that all three of our main bigs will be back next season.

I do agree with Rap though that there is some risk with Joan. I'm not going to assume anything about him after getting my hopes up so much with Shannon and Clark! But still, part of being a good POBO is taking on some risk and betting on guys on cheaper contracts. Connelly managed to dig himself out of the Dillingham risk, but it did cost us.

For me I see Joans floor as a backup big, but I could be wrong. I just think that he can continue to develop the skills (rebounding/screening/shot contest) and is already pretty solid considering age and time playing BB. My question is more if he can be a starter or good starter. I think so, but that seems more like the question to me.

Yeah, hard to see him not at least being a solid backup for the next decade. There is just too much athleticism and good instincts (mostly on the offensive end ironically) for him not to earn minutes with someone eventually - hopefully us!

To your point, the question is whether he can start on a deep playoff-run caliber team. That is a completely different standard and we just don't know yet. He's a pretty weak defensive rebounder and gets a bit too jumpy in the paint. Those seem like correctable things, but they are absolute basics for a starting playoff Center - he can't be getting out of position and mis-timing defensive rebounds as much as he does now. But his age and lack of NBA experience gives him a ton of runway to improve.

I like Ayo a lot more now. Done with the nba for obvious reasons, but just lurking on here when I get bored I guess.

It's downright scary. And Steve Kerr can use his voice to spew political hate and it goes unchecked.
Right. I hope the wolves win a title and I hope you all enjoy the ride. I, for one, won’t be a watching another minute of this. I’m sure I can find something else to do
