WOJ Live: Free Agency Show
Re: WOJ Live: Free Agency Show
For Miami I think it's actually a solid time to rebuild/retool.
Some people are completely shocked about Wade leaving Miami. I don't have the insider info like they probably do but it seemed to play out in a similar way some people thought it might when Lebron left Miami. It just happened 2 years later.

Don't forget that Butler was pretty much a secondary PG with the Bulls last year and Wade was the PG for Miami in the playoffs. Then add Rondo, who probably needs the ball in his hands even more than Rubio to be effective. Someone is going to feel lost in that offense.....
How does Hoiberg get those guys to play in his offense...wait I doubt he will be doing his offense he will roll the ball out and get guys to play together. He isn't stupid. It's gonna be interesting.
Yikes, I don't know Monster. There is such a thing as having too many ball handlers on the court at once, especially if none of them are known as great 3-point shooters.
The question is does one of these guys want to come off the bench as a 6th man? Ideally, they start two out of three of those guys (any two can work since Wade can practically play all three perimeter positions and Butler can play almost all three) and add a shooter into the mix.

Wow, Wade to the Bulls? Good for him and good for Chicago. Another NBA homecoming. Wade and Butler together should be fun to watch.
It's a bit of a weird move from a basketball standpoint. That's in part because of Wade and Butler's below-average 3 point shooting. But that's mostly because of Rondo, which was a bad signing in general, and definitely not the ideal PG in that situation now. Better to have a 3 point shooting PG who doesn't need to handle the ball much. Mario Chalmers would be better than Rondo. Grant's not a bad PG. Hell, I'd put Valentine at the point with Wade and Butler, his passing and 3 point shooting would be a good fit. Chemistry-wise, Wade and Butler should have the clout to keep Rondo in line (though who knows with that head-case). And hey, Rondo did shoot 36% from 3 last year, actually. Butler has shown he can hit the 3 at decent rates some seasons, but not all, so they'll want to put Mitotic and McDermott out there. But that's an interesting roster for sure.
Rondo/Grant
Wade/Valentine
Butler/McDermott/Snell
Mirotic/Portis/Gibson
Lopez/Anonymous Brazilian Guy

I like all the moves Chicago has made this offseason. The got younger overall and will have a very competitive team still. Ill be pulling for them or Indiana to come out of the east.
Rondo isn't the greatest signing, but he's a good chess piece vs the east pgs. better than a chalmers.

To me, the big story is how Riley overplayed his hand. He's asked Wade to take less money in the past, not just for LeBron, and the quotes coming out of Miami were always that Riley would take care of Wade later in his career. But prioritizing Whiteside and Durant this summer and offering Wade 10 million per to start when bench guys were pulling 15-20, especially after the year Wade had last year, was bound to alienate the guy. I like Winslow, but otherwise I don't care if that Heat team sinks. Good for Wade.

I was getting all hopeful about landing some of their dump offs before remembering who our president of basketball operations is and his relationship with Chicago lol. We had no chance at any of them.
Re: WOJ Live: Free Agency Show
I'm a bit surprised that Chicago is trading Dunleavy to Cleveland who will be their main competition. That's a nice pickup/fit playing off Kyrie and LeBron.
