I remember Charles Barkley saying a few years back that the NBA has always been a young man's game but even more so recently. I think he's right. Players come into the League younger than they used to and I think they hit their peak at an earlier age before declining. There are exceptions like Chris Paul and some others. But teams tend to flourish now when their core elite players are in the 25-30 range. Back in the MJ era, I think that range was more 27-32.
30 is a typical breaking point for smaller PGs. Rubio is a bigger player so I expect him to bounce back. Chris Paul is a smaller player but in some ways he plays like a guy that's built like Deron Williams.
There are some pretty good players playing some good basketball in these playoffs well past 30.
