That seems a little extreme. Would he be one of the worst ranked tackles if he was playing RT? I would imagine he is at least a worthy depth guy as a swing tackle and is still pretty cheap. They will have invested a lot of snaps in the guy as a starting tackle the past 2 years you would think he would be worth keeping around.

I have not been tracking his socres on PFF, but he is down to a 28 which is horrible and seems to be trending down week to week. I wonder at what point they decided it is never going to click for him and move on. He has played a lot of snaps in his career already.

I see he started at RT and was a woeful 24.5 or something. Yeah maybe it isn't going to click for him and I don't want to give too much of an easy out but switching from Left to Right isn't simple and the guy is 1.5 years in. It could still click at RT if he was the guy there from the get go. My guess is that if Long stays healthy they will probably go with Clemmings at RT and see what he can do. It's a bad deal right now though no doubt.
Which brings me to another point. One odd thing I always look at for any sports team is at the end of the season I want to see guys prove their worth one way or another. It's not always certain but you can get a good read on them and that's why it's good to see guys at least stay healthy. For the Vikings it would be of great benefit to see guys prove what they were or weren't on that oline. Is Fusco just not any good anymore? Cut him and move on. Is Clemmings the answer anywhere? Is Sirles or Kerin or Easton a guy that might be an interior lineman going forward? It seems Berger is a legit starter and Boone has been mostly solid (not good enough but we can do worse) so there are lots of questions and very little answers. If some of these guys really do suck I want to find out so we can move on. Too bad we may have to find this out for a team with aspirations and need something from important positions on that line.

Monster - I am with you. Time to figure out who is part of the problem and who might be part of the answer. I worry we don't have anyone that is part of the answer. Berger is pretty old at this point.

Yeah we will see how it plays out but at this point I would say Boone seems to at least be worry of being a guy that is good enough and hopefully Berger can hold for another year after this one at least. The one good thing is even though he is getting older he probably doesn't have quite the miles on his body some other guys would since he hasn't played as a full time guy for years. After that...idk there are no guys you can say they are worth saying you can plan on them being in the picture as starters. The guy with the best case might be Sirles as a guard. Of course solid guards (and even centers) are like the non-closers in a bullpen you can find them here and there although you can't always bank on that. Tackles in the NFL are much tougher to come by. You can't just hope to get lucky.
I'm certainly. It expecting it but it's possible that's along rounds into decent form Clemmings is ok at RT maybe they insert Sirles as the RG and it all comes together as a functional enough unit late in the season and into the playoffs. I've seen it happen with other teams why can't it be us? I know that's a really optimistic take and like I said it's possible but I am not expecting it.

There were a couple pretty big guys wearing pads and jerseys to Chipolte last night as their costumes for the $3 Boo-rito. Maybe so should have told them to call Spielman?

Boone and Kerin ruled out (so is Kendricks) for Sunday's game so Sirles will be back at LG. Berger and Fusco are the only guys that have stayed healthy the other spots have been in major flux. Smh it's been tough.

I wodner if signing KELECHI OSEMELE would have changed things. He could play both guard and tackle. He is doing very well with Raiders.
