Adrian Payen
Re: Adrian Payen
Has anyone found out the protections on that 1st? I'm reserving judgment until I find out those specifics.
Re: Adrian Payen
we brought in Whiteside and passed on him? When?

Years ago was last I heard. I don't remember seeing us bring him in this year.
I remember when he was putting up a lot of 10+ block games in college. Wanted the two lives to draft him so bad

Payne being 24 means to me that he's not going to majorly improve anything about his game. He's a what you see is what you get type player, except he'll perhaps get better at the things he's already decent at.

Payne also started playing basketball later than most so from an experience standpoint he's more likely to improve than your typical 24 year old. Not saying he will, but he has the physical tools and it's not as though he's been playing forever.

Started in 8th grade. I hope he works out. Big seem to develop later. I thought Dieng was a bad pick because of his age. I hope Payne matches his production. How will we feel if Payne does what Dieng did last spring?
Did Payne play in the D-League? Seems like he should have gotten some burn there since he only played 3 games here.

Wasn't the same thing said about Gorgui? Offensively he's added some post moves and a more reliable bank shot, but other than that he's the same guy two years in.

That's true Cam. You can't get better after you're 24. Oh wait, I didn't win my MVPs until I was 31 and 32.

Re: Adrian Payen
AGAIN: the protection on that pick is LOTTERY protected from 2017-2020...after that it becomes two 2nd round picks. If the franchise isn't a perennial playoff contender by 2020, we will probably lose Wiggins, Rubio will be past his prime, and this franchise will again be a disaster.
A solid case can be made that you don't want to just give away a pick and I get that, but I'm drinking the "Flip talent evaluator" Kool-aid with the picks he has made thus far (Bazz, Dieng, Lavine, and technically Wiggins). Whose to say he doesn't hit a solid double or triple here again with Payne?
