This sort of behavior -- pointing a gun at obviously innocent strangers and running an illegal weed business from his home -- suggests a deeper character problem. His prior incident is another sign. There's a reason the Nuggets increasingly marginalized him and appeared to have little interest in keeping him. I suspect they heard things about him they considered troubling.
I've been a big Beasley booster on this board. I still like his talent, but he's a much bigger risk than I assumed when my only question was whether he could become a good defender and a better ball handler. I still want to re-sign him to get as much value as possible for Covington. But I don't think I'd pay him more than mid-level money.

I wouldn't say the nuggets didn't want him. He was offered 10 million a year by them. Beasley just said no

I'll give Kim K some credit for sticking with Kanye during his meltdown. I know they have kids and all but damn that's a toxic relationship if there ever was one.
Now our Kat is part of the Kardashian crew. Damn you Ryan Seacrest! Damn you!
Re: Malik Beasley arrested
It's worth looking back at Beasley's role with Denver. In 2018-2019 season it was his highest MPG average at just over 23mpg and that includes him starting nearly 20 games. Craig played 20mpg and Morris played 24mpg. He wasn't the clear cut guard off the bench there. Could he end up with more of a role here? Maybe idk. If McLaughlin is for real we could see him cut into some other guys minutes in a similar way that Morris surprised the last few years with Denver. That's a more unlikely path but I'm just saying. I do still think as the roster stands now (could change after the draft or even FA) there is plenty of opportunity for Beasley. I'm kit sure how many other teams would have some sort of no brainer spot for him before and now even less so. Like it has been said he might be more of a reclamation project than solid young player. Good organizations figure out the correct value on these things and benefit from them...or if it's really bad simply walk away.

I said little interest not no interest. Honestly, I think they knew he'd turn down the offer. Now that the Wolves have a better sense of Beasley's character, I suspect they're probably going to offer about the same amount. Otherwise, I think Beasley could have expected at least $15 million per year.

Excellent analysis, Monster. I agree completely.

sign him anyway. retain talent. For example, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope plead guilty to a probation violation and was sentenced to a 25 day jail sentence during the season. Annoying right? Now he's part of the World Champion Los Angeles Lakers. I say that to say this: if they believe in his talent, deal with it. I'm sure some of you are upset at Beasley and probably don't want him back and don't really like him as much, but I'll tell you this: all those negative feelings you have about Beasley will be redirected to Culver when he can't shoot 50% from anywhere on the court, and he'd never hurt a fly.

I agree, Wild. As disgusted as I am by what Beasley has apparently done, the Wolves need to suck it up and re-sign him -- assuming the price is right.

Yeah unless something is really off. In some ways I'm a little surprised how much KCP has gotten paid the last couple years but decent wings like him aren't easy to get and I think his agent did a good job of working the leverage that the Lakers kinda needed a guy like him and were willing to pay to make sure they kept him. Wolfson in that last podcast mentioned that Beasley did switch From Rich Paul to a different agent.
