No. But he did fire him today.

It'll all be a largely forgotten footnote in history. But it's interesting because it happened after two blowout wins... which simply doesn't happen too often.

Also the same guy who fired Mitchell over text message.

Once again it doesn't mean that much but little things add up. And saying he is thibs was fired because of performance after the trade but we are 15-12 while missing 3 of our top 6 players for multiple games and we were 10th in the NBA in net rating.

It's just not the best look going forward. Even if firing thibs is correct

We were 29th in attendance. Easy for you to say it's not the best look, you don't have to pay the expenses of an NBA franchise.

The timing of this move won't make a lick of difference to people who know Taylor. But it's an NBA job and not many will turn it down.

I'm a little worried about Ryan going forward as our coach. He is 32, 6 years younger then any other head coach. Was an end of the bench college player and never played in the NBA. Who had never been the top assistant on his team.

Like it or not he is going to have the stigma that he got the job because of his last name.

I am just thinking league wide he is going to have trouble early getting players to want to come and play for him. It's going to be a uphill battle. I hope he succeeds.

That is fair. I'm just so down on Glenn to make a good decision. If he was going to fire him should of done it before this home stretch. But whatever it is what it is

Hey, he should count his blessings. Worse things can happen over text:

I know what you're saying, I can't believe I'm making excuses for the guy. I think I'm just giddy that the ogre is finally history.

Nah now we know why Laettner was in town...lol

I don't think Laettner has the drive that RD and Kandi bring.

How is Spree feeding his family? He might be interested in the opportunity.

I'm a little worried too which is why I didn't want this out come but...

I remember John Wall had good things to say about him as did Andre Miller. Rubio spoke well of him. Sure he got the job partly because his dad was Flip but I think around the league he is considered a guy that earned his place on the league. Head coach? Idk but who else were they going to give it to? Nobody has really earned in on the staff. I don't think he is ready but like Pat Riley told JVG after his first year as an assistant if you help players win games they will allow you to coach them. We have no idea.

Meanwhile if he is the head coach going forward it's not like there haven't been a variety of people making the case some players didn't want to come here because of Thibs. Most of that was whether or not they would actually get an opportunity because of his rotations but even giving Thibs the benefit of the doubt I'm sure there was some issues there. If Ryan doesn't get in the way an helps guys some players won't have a problem with coming to play for him. If he is the head coach after this season I think it's likely he actually earned it.

How do you expect to attract good coaches and front office personnel when they see a coach get canned after winning slightly more than he lost after he traded away his best player? This just adds to the terrible optics of this organization under Glen. The league and all it's talented personnel see this stuff and just say fuck that organization. The country club is gonna be the only group of people who would still work for this organization at this rate.

Also, Hoiberg is a doormat. He's not gonna work in the NBA where you need to manage personalities and egos and not just let them walk all over you. The inmates run his asylums. He should go back to college.

I think to a certain extant this is true. If we were trying to get out there and hire a long standing GM or Coach the optics are a problem. Taylor is going to hire a first go guy at both positions though. So there will be a lot of suitors looking for their first shot regardless of the dysfunction of our ownership. We just better hope we luck out in the choice and that Taylor looks beyond familiarity as part of his criteria. I'm skeptical. I do generally like the idea of youth and giving Saunders a chance to step up now. No downside in taking some risk for a half of a season.

There are a lot of important people in organizations that aren't coaches or GM's. There are many areas an organization can improve to help a GM and coach succeed. The top talent around the coach and GM just aren't coming when stuff like this happens. You land your country club guys and then who's coming to help them outside of their friends? That's not built to last long-term. That's only built to last as long as they do in their positions.
