They get pushed around. Why has none of their defensive dominance translated to this level? Good defenses are built from the rim out and our defense at the rim is just garbage with 2 guys who should be plus rim protectors. I just don't get it.

To be fair, it doesn't always translate for obvious reasons.

Agree with sentiment above.

- Interior defense....as stated, we have none. You want to know the value of Rudy Gobert? Check out points in the paint given up. To date...Utah leading league with only 33.8 vs Wolves 2nd to last with 50.7. Their ability to defend the paint drives their success, and is the obvious leading reason why they are the #1 ranked defense in NBA. While I love Towns offense, he has not proven to be any better than Dieng on defense....which isn't good.

Yup, that's a big freakin' deal. We've talked before on here how Gobert is a game-changer. Those stats prove it. Dieng's struggles protecting the paint in the NBA is nothing new. He's had this issue since day one. It's unfortunate KAT doesn't seem to be helping much. It's a big problem.

I haven't looked at that specifically. It seems Towns is playing PF a significant amount of the time and Dieng playing C. If Thibs is serious about guys playing as a unit...it may take some time and no one guy may look good (or even much above average) defensively till that happens

Of course, it's easy for me to be detached about it without having watched the game. I stare at the box score and just shake my head at our defense. Whatever Thibs is preaching, the parishioners are asleep.

Q I am just watching the end of the game and knowing the outcome and just watching the game it's very entertaining.

Yes and I am watching the end of this game and Wiggins is all over the place hustling his ass off getting rebounds going for loose balls and all that stuff people have been asking of him to do. I'm sure this game was very frustrating in real time.

A couple more thoughts about this game.

Bazz played a solid game. I know he missed some shots but generally the shots he took were good shots. There were a. Umber of times he got the ball on a rebound or some other possession that in the past he would just go to work and jack up a shot. Tonight he mostly moved the ball to another player. He is moving the ball out there trying to play a role and it's working for the most part.

Aldrich was solid and that was handy since Dieng was in foul trouble.

Dunn just has no idea what to do offensively. He is tentative around the rim or at the idea of going to the rim.

The Nets hit some whacky shots espcially late and the Wolves missed bunnies.

The defense was terrible.

Belly had some nice moments going to the basket.

Tyus Was pretty good. He is 20. It's hard to see how he doesn't get minutes when Rubio comes back unless Dunn is actually effective when he gets on the floor.

I was not looking forward to watching this game because aI read some of this thread the last couple days before seeing the game so that obviously afffected how I saw the game when I watched it. I am glad aI watched it actually there were some things to see.
