Hopefully they can keep it up and once again we should have a good offense this year and what Thibs is doing is working on that end even though it is super frustrating to watch.
The Wolves scored a lot of points because they had a lot of scores - Towns, Wiggins, Butler, Teague. Butler and his 20+ points won't be here this season. Prepare for a big drop-off in points if the offense doesn't chance. Also, our iso "inside the arc" offense likely hurt our defense last season by slowing our ability to get back defensively.
Wolves were 10th in the NBA in thibs 1st year and 6th in the NBA in offensive rating after lavine went down. I wouldn't say Rubio, rush and gorgui are these elite offensive players.
There might be some truth to the transition defense but we were 20th in the NBA transition D last year so we weren't good but we also weren't garbage in that category.
I just feel like thibs gets destroyed constantly for his offense and to be fair I don't enjoy watching it but for his 2 years as head coach he has created an offense that has been damn good.
Don't come back at me in crunch time the offense fails because we were 11th in the NBA in offense in clutch situations last year. Defense was so bad in those situations
If the guys running the ISOs would spend more time finding shots for teammates than their own shot, we wouldn't be complaining about how the offense looks. Thibs can preach it (which he does), but it comes down to our ISO guys actually looking to pass, especially from Towns and Wiggins.
And both those guys did try a few passes. KAT drove and dished to Taj for a lay in, but Taj was fouled. You could see both KAT and Taj acknowledge each other for the attempt!
Wiggins and tried one drive and dish, but it was stolen away.
They just need to keep on trying, and the offense will not only be efficient, but look good, too!

It's fair to say that the Wolves has a lot of scorers so they should score.
Personally I don't think we will miss Butler's offense THAT much. We aren't going to be replacing him with someone limited like Brandon Rush when Lavine went down. Instead we are going to have Wiggins chip in a few more points as well as Teague probably Towns and double digit scoring from someone we get in a trade. It's weird to say that about Butler because he had his most efficient season of his career last year (fun to mention that he had a higher TS% than Paul George) but there really is guys that can take up that scoring slack on the roster with at least another player coming.
I liked what I saw from everyone except Teague and Wig. Really impressed with what I saw from Okogie. If he can up his offensive game a little, I could see him starting by the end of the year.
Scoring is the most replaceable stat in the league. The Jazz lost their 2 leading scorers going into last year and ended up being fine. Guys step up when scoring holes need to be filled. The biggest hit we'll take with Jimmy gone is the defense. He was pretty much the glue making that unit respectable. That's why I don't think we are a playoff team without him. Slow iso ball is ideal when you can't defend to limit total possessions of the game, but it's not gonna be enough.

It's a little ironic you cite the Jazz since you were the one that thought they would be worthless offensively last season!
Yes, it's not hard for others to take more shots and score more points. But do we really want the likes of Wiggins and Rose to be taking shots that otherwise would have been taken by Butler? Efficiency matters. Let's hope those extra shots go to the likes of KAT and Teague, especially KAT.
Yeah, I'm sure we'll all be keeping tabs on these guys. I'd argue that LaVine was better than Wiggins offensively two seasons ago, but his defense was worse and then he got hurt. He has the potential to be a very dynamic scorer with that jump shot.
Dunn is a "do shit" player that has struggled to quarterback a team due to some weak handles and balky outside shot. I still think at worst he can be Marcus Smart 2.0. Heck, Okogie reminds me a little of Dunn in terms of his doggedness and defense. Let's just hope he doesn't have the same injury and attitude issues.

Those three guys will have plenty of opportunity to score on this team that they led to a whopping 27 wins last year. I'm more interested in how Zach plays defense and how they measure up in other stats. I note that in this game Zach and Dunn had 6 assists and 6 turnovers between them, and no made threes...not a winning formula for a NBA starting backcourt.
