I am up in the air on Lavine. I think we could have moved down to get him, although not sure what we could have picked up in the process. If Flip is that impressed, I will give him the benefit of the doubt and see how the kid progresses over the first couple of seasons.
I like the GR3 pick mainly because I see him as a stronger Cory Brewer. This is a guy that we can pay under a mil a season for 2 or 3 years, and hopefully move brewer at the deadline if GR3 looks promising. This is exactly how a team should be spending their 2nd rounders. No risk, high reward type of guys.
The one thing that jumps out at me though is our glut of wings. How are you going to get Martin (Klay), Bud, Bazz, Brewer, GR3, and Lavine the necessary minutes. I hope that means Flip is going to be looking to move Bud at the very least.

I think Flip is having Bud play in Summer League to essentially show him off. Sure, it'll help Bud's conditioning or whatever, but it's the best way for Flip to market him to other teams. If he looks good and the knee looks fine, I expect Flip to deal him. I think he was only re-signed because Adelman wanted him anyway. Zgoda reported that Flip was trying to deal multiple players at the end of the 1st round the other night. I do believe that Budinger and Barea were those players.
Martin, Brewer, Muhammad, LaVine and Robinson are the only wings I'm focusing on. Budinger is getting traded. Mbah a Moute can be our backup PF off the bench.

Do you think Flip would include Shabazz to facilitate a trade? We have a glut of wings, who do you move?

I dunno if Lip was using his sources but he said yesterday in one of these topics that he's positive Flip will absolutely not trade Shabazz

I doubt it. Pride alone will ensure that he isn't included in a deal. GM's hate admitting they were wrong. Trading a player after their rookie year sends that message.

Or it sends the message that you nailed a pick and team that's rebuilding is willing to give up a proven vet for his potential.

Seems like two good guys. The Twitter blowup Thursday night about Zach not wanting to be here was due to 1)his odd "f me" comment, and 2) our inferiority complex that makes us think nobody wants to be here. In actuality, I don't know if there is a first rounder happier than Zach LaVine...it seems to me he fell in love with the Wolves during his workout.
Yeah, the "you know" thing is a little annoying...at the 11:55 mark, he starts a sentence that has 6 "you knows" in it! It's actually kind of a throwback to the era when all athletes "you know'd" us to death. I don't know if you guys have noticed, but "you know" has been replaced by "I mean"...listen to Rubio sometime.

Cam, I think this is way too optimistic a floor for a guy who we really don't know that much about...just not enough meaningful college minutes to say he's not going to be a bust. I think the delta between LaVine's ceiling and his floor is as big as any player in this year's draft. With everything I hear about his combination of athleticism, shooting and ball handling, his ceiling has to be very high. But let's be honest...this is a "swing for the fences" kind of pick. I think his floor is actually Ndudi Ebi.
