I still cannot believe that 26 million is now only enough to get two decent players.
Yep. I definitely chose the wrong career path. Damn.
[Note: To be fair, being 6'0" and/or without enough talent (relatively) might have had something to do with it.]
Abe don't lie. You're really only 5' 9". :)

Aldrich, Rush and Hill were playing around vets, All-Stars and Superstars. Guys who either know the NBA game and how to play on a team or guys who made everyone around them better (with some young guys sprinkled into the rotation, but very few). Nobody on our team makes their teammates better on either end of the court and the guys we signed aren't the type that can lift a young team up. They are supporting pieces on good teams and bad pieces on bad teams because they stay in their lane and play off of the strengths of those around them. We had no strengths for them to play around because our best scorers don't know how to setup others yet and our best setup guys don't score well enough to be able to be both a scorer and playmaker. Defensively more than half the team has no idea how to play team defense. The role players we signed looked good because they supported good players. Our good players here weren't playing the kind of team ball the role players support. The good news is Towns and Wiggins can get theirs on almost any night. That's half the battle. Now they just need to learn how to use that to make their teammates better around them which is the hardest part.

Sure. And that makes sense.
But it's not like Aldrich, Hill and Rush were always with good teams. Aldrich had his worst season since he was a rookie. Hill was on some pretty awful Lakers teams and churned out some 28/14 types of games. He wasn't even considered good enough to get run ... at all.
