However.....if we ever want to be a very good team, it will need to get addressed eventually. It's just so frustrating that 3-point shooting is a perennial problem with this team, year after year. It seems to transcend front office and coaching regimes. We just do a horrible job developing shooters.

Yeah, it's our proclivity to get to the stripe that allows us to be middle of the road offensively. If we can just be average behind the arc we should be fine.

The wrong guys are taking the 3s. Bazz, Rubio and Wiggins shoot less than 30% from beyond the arc yet take many more shots than our 4 best percentage shooters: Miller, Rudez, Towns and Payne who take very few.

You do realize that Miller, rudez and payne are not part of the regular rotation right?

Miller? Andre Miller?

He's a career 22% shooter and has only averaged more than 1 attempt per game twice in 17 seasons... and none in the past decade.

Damn it man, he's hitting 50% this year, get off his back and let him shoot!

In related news... Andre Drummond set to shoot a higher 3 point percentage than free throw percentage for the 2nd time in his 4-year career.

37.5% on free throws.
50% on three pointers.

To much time to think about it with free throws I'm guessing. Still may be one of the most baffling stats in the entire league!

I watched this game this afternoon with what Inassume was the Celtics announcers and they made me really miss the insight from Jim Pete. Jim does advance scouting of opponents like he is a coach these guys barely seemed to know who Wolves players actually were. Ok maybe not that bad here was also dead air space where it seemed clear the had nothing worthwhile to say. Some here think Jim is a homer and to a certain point he is but damn I learn a lot watching games with him sharing insights and teaching. Benz seems to try and learn as much as he can about the game and the people around the game.

I'm not as pessimistic as some of you about the Wolves ability to improve as a 3-point shooting team. Belly, Wig, and Zach have all had terrible success behind the line this year, but they all have decent shooting form and I think can be high 30% shooters...I want them all taking the shot whenever they're open. Bazz has terrible form, but he was reasonably successful in college and I want him taking open threes also. Ricky has no jump shot from beyond the arc, but has had some success at times when wide open with his set shot. He needs to be stationary and have nobody within 5 feet of him, but I think he needs to shoot when he finds himself in that situation. And one guy who is not taking enough threes is Tay Prince. He's 37% on threes for his career, and made over 46% last year. He is going to get wide open looks with defenses thinking of him as just a facilitator and focusing more on Wig and KAT. I would like to see him set up in the corner and have the ball kicked out to him at times...He's shown he can make the shot, and success would open things up more for our young studs too.

The other two guys who need to take more threes are KAT and Kmart. Not many centers are going to chase KAT out to the line consistently, and I wouldn't be surprised if he hit close to 40% of his open shots. KMart needs to fall out of love with his ineffective running jumper in the lane (it used to be an effective shot, but it's broken this year), and focus on his quick release 3-point shot...that's his value to this team off the bench.
