You aren't a coward just because you leave your team to join the team that beat you. He took a once in a lifetime opportunity with the way the Warriors cap is setup combined with the cap jump to join 3 other great players. That doesn't make the man a coward. This is basketball people. Get over it and stop attacking athletes. That's worse for the game than Durant going to OKC.

An NBA player disagrees with you... :)

Jusuf Nurki?

Somebody beat you ! And you go there... ? Superstar not doing that man..

Michael Smith on twitter
"you say it's a weak move by KD but it does take some courage to do what you want knowing you're gonna get killed for it"

Yeah, so what? Even Smith is saying KD will be killed for this. So why are you bitching?

Because you guys are calling him a coward for making a decision that took a lot of courage to make which happens to be the opposite of a coward. You're all butt-hurt just because a great player joined an already great team. Get over it and stop being whiny bitches with your doom apocalypse for the league predictions.

Courage is a pretty strong word to use for a guy about to make 27 million on a ready made championship caliber team.

The guy has 29 NBA fan bases going after him in the second most popular sport in the US. He's gonna get ridiculed by experts worse than Lebron did with the decision because he just joined the team he lost to in the WCF. That's a lot of hate to deal with when you just play basketball for a living.

I really don't think players care all that much about what fans think. They have money in the bank, beautiful women, nice cars, homes etc..

Lebron was miserable all of 2011 topped off with a finals loss. They read all this stuff and it gets to them. Normal human beings whether they're millionaires or Jane Doe don't feel nothing when a couple million people spew hate at them. They aren't robots. They're people.

How long until the Lakers are dangling Russel plus other assets for Westbrook?

Understood, I totally understand why folks like the Warriors. They lost me last season with Draymond Green's antics and Joe Lacob's arrogant "Silicon Valley is smarter than everyone else" persona.

Yeah I hate that crap too. That's one reason I can't stand the Seahawks and them running their mouths.

Lacob is such an arrogant dude. Just wait for the quote about how only his investment banking, Silicon Valley, outside-the-box thinking could have led to this. I really like KD, but it's gonna be easier to root against these guys now.

It's all of San Fran now. The place is just full of douche bags. Real people can't live there anymore because the money in tech has completely inflated everything there. As if their egos weren't big enough already. Lacob has a city of people exactly like him, and has just shown everyone that he is right in a way. This certainly won't make him or any warrior fan less annoying.

The funny part of all this is the players can only blame themselves. The players association chose the big cap jump the next two years over the slower cap smoothing proposal. They created the window that allowed KD to sign with GS.

It won't be difficult to choose my most hated team next season.

Here is what bothers me the most. Publicly the NBA is going to be non-reactive to this news. They will point out the league tried to avoid this type of thing and the players association blocked their efforts. But behind the scenes and away from the press the league and ESPN are throwing a huge party. They know this is going to be a tremendous thing for business. ESPN will devote an entire team to cover the Warriors much like they did for the "Heatles". The league will garner more attention than ever. The dollars will flow in and the league will become even stronger. Competitive balance be damned, we care about our TV contracts and the casual fans. The true fans in each of the 30 markets aren't going anywhere, so why care about them?

I like Silver. I think he's a very good commissioner. I thought Stern was too. It's tough to know what they're really thinking, but listening to Silver talk about the game and the league, I think he really does care about parity, and it is true that he tried to avoid this with the cap-smoothing plan.

That said, it is true as you point out that the league is going to make a lot of money on this. Superteams are good for ratings even if they're not great for parity. The good news is, even with the cap jump next year, they can't keep all these guys together for too long unless they all take big pay cuts. So that should return some parity to the league--hopefully right about the time when we start coming into our own as contenders!

EDIT: ESPN, however, can go to hell. Those guys ONLY care about ratings.
