The only thing that sucks about this is that they woulda been better off losing by 30 than losing the way they did, because nobody is gonna give them credit for hanging in there in ANOTHER OT game against the Celtics.

Abe's Late Night Surprisingly Surprised to be Surprised DVR Review:

- I'm a Timberwolves fan first... but I was a Celtics fan first (pre 1989.) So I still root for them when not vs. the Wolves... and so I can root against the Lakers 2x as often. I still remember when I realized the 2008 Celtics team was special — I was at a Timberwolves game in a lost season when I looked up and saw the Celtics winning yet another "scheduled loss" game. Except for the 2006 Heat (fluke title), championship teams tend to find success at the most inopportune times. For 45 minutes... it looked like the Timberwolves were going to pull it off. A disappointing finish, but a promising and hopefully telling game.

- A little bit of something from everyone tonight... An Ant run... a Towns run... a Reid run... an Anderson run... and even a NAW run. Who's missing? McDaniels. He was awful.

- If Tatum was officiated like Towns for hooks... he'd foul out in every game by halftime. (Granted, he's more subtle about it, but he does it several times every time I watch him.)

- The Celtics took 31 FTA tonight. They scored 33 points on those free throws. The only one they missed turned into a three pointer. That's pretty damn efficient.

- Sometimes the strangest calls get overturned. To be fair, Boston just went through it (2x) in their last game.

- Anthony Edwards was brilliant. Anthony Edwards was careless and selfish. Rinse. Repeat.

- Towns didn't touch the ball enough for a huge stretch. Once again, Edwards is to blame. (Remember... I said he's brilliant. Just... sometimes... well... you know... )

- Tatum and Brown were brilliant. They basically double-handedly beat the Wolves:

22 - 42 fg.
26 - 27 ft.

Rest of team:

17 - 48 fg.
4 - 4 ft.

Would have been a nice game for McDaniels to stick around in, I guess.

- Extended rough patch is over (9 - 7). Could have been better... but it ends with the team still in 1st. So good enough? The key is to get beating the bad teams moving forward.

9-7 is pretty solid, especially when you consider that 11 out of those 16 games were on the road. Brutal! We were 4-1 in home games.

Well, that was fun. I checked the message board when I went to bed last night, and knew it had to be a good game when I saw 9 pages in the GDT. I was looking forward to watching the replay this morning, and I wasn't disappointed...what a game! It was there for the taking too, but we just didn't have enough poise down the stretch with Bite Bite out. Still, we made some big shots, and we surprisingly made it close.

Some positives...we won the rebounding battle again despite Rudy being out. I really like how Ant and Naz have stepped up on the boards recently,

We also protected the ball quite well despite playing most of the game without a PG...only 4 turnovers by players not named Anthony. Special shout out to SloMo and KAT with half of our 22 assists and only 1 turnover.

26-11 now with a good chance of winning 8 of our next 10.
