Hey, the later draft pick will count less against the salary cap. Always look for the silver lining! ;)

Also on the bright side, Jaden was the 28th pick.

Lakers up at the half, Nuggets won even though they maybe wanted to lose.

Let Sunday decide it

Lakers are favored by 17 tomorrow and spurs by 4 1/2. If both favorites win, we get the wounded lakers in round 1!

Nba radio this morning said spurs are going to pull out all the stops to beat Denver tomorrow and drop them to 4th. Why? They said it provides a cake walk to the finals with an easy first round and the lakers in the second. I think the wolves wouid beat the lakers, but they still think avoiding Denver is the goal.

A few days ago, I thought it was far-fetched the Lakers could hold onto the 3rd seed. But that was a solid win for them against Phoenix. And as you laid out, the Spurs have a pretty strong incentive to knock Denver out of their side of the bracket. The Wolves will be happy benefactors!

I know you are scared of the Lakers...

(And I know it has a lot to do with ref bias -- intentional or not. And your belief Luka will be back.)

It seems pretty clear Luka will NOT be available at the beginning of the first round. And they will be missing Reeves, too. Denver, on the other hand, is pretty much back to full strength. The Wolves cannot take their first round opponent lightly, but a weakened Lakers team seems much preferable to a Lakers team led by a 41 year old LeBron.

While I'd love to watch a nuggets v wolves series, facing the Lakers without Luka and Reaves is inarguably an easier path. Not just cause it's an easier opponent but because they'll be better rested for subsequent rounds.

Their mettle will be plenty tested against the Spurs and Thunder
