The term snowflake was coined to describe the fragile male ego.

I don't care if somebody is gay, or if someone voices their dislike of someone being gay. If that hinders you, or occupies all of your time, then you need to refocus your energy. Go be gay, go hate gay people. I do not care. That is your prerogative. A term "snowflake" is just elementary name calling to me.
I don't even care about these wars going on. Because they are inevitable throughout history. Man is dumb, shortsighted, and greedy. All to a fault and a sure demise.
What everyone should be together in arms about is this new venture into gambling. The platform Kalshi. It has been approved to wager on anything. Any prediction. Now we have people in power who can proxy bet on decisions only THEY can make. "Will such and such invade on such and such date", "how much money will be spent by ..." "will this law be passed" "will this person win or lose the vote". "Will this person be traded by.."
There is no resources being put into finding out if those who make decisions in this country are manipulating it with their standing. They've been doing it forever, but now they are throwing it in the public's faces with zero backlash.
Divide, divert, conquer is real.
I do not think there are enough people who are terrified by what this is.

I haven't heard about kalshi before, but you're so right that these sites like Polymarket have absolutely deplorable short and long term outlooks.
It's a really frightening under current, but it makes sense that not too many people are paying attention to it right now; there is just so much grabbing all of our attentions every moment of every day. It's hard to know what to focus on

PSA and reminder for everyone:
a) this place and the prior stop (Enjin) after the old ESPN board was disappeared has had something between zero and light touch moderation in place. In fact, the poster that created the Enjin site (JDVikes) abandoned the board soon after creating it and there was literally no moderator (at least that I know of!).
b) The current iteration of this board only exists because of 60WinTim's generosity, time, and skills (unless there is some other silent partner I'm not aware of!).
c) One of the attractions of this site to many of us is that it is a smaller group of folks that talk almost exclusively basketball and largely leave other non-basketball/non-sports stuff alone.
d) Having said that, there is no formal rule or restriction when things like politics or other life-stuff organically comes up in conversations. For those of us that didn't want to engage in such conversations, a "General Discussion"sub-section of the board was created some years ago where people can argue, debate, and rant to their heart's content. Those of us that don't want to participate can completely avoid those threads.
Thank you!
P.S. I'm not a moderator and generally don't know what I'm talking about.
P.S.S. I defer to Tim on anything involving board policies and what Tim Connelly has up his sleeve next.

Thanks Q, that's fair.
As a newer board member, I mostly try to take ques from others on what is and isn't tolerated. Especially after kind of getting put in my place last year lol --- I tried a little bit of my own moderation over talk about Doris Burke, and I was promptly told to stay in my lane, young fella.
I'm happy to delete my comment if it helps the health of this community, cause this is easily the best place to talk Wolves ball. Not toxic at all and lots of insightful and engaging conversation.

Absolutely no need to delete your comment. I found the conversation on sports-betting interesting, but I would just suggest further discussion on the topic gets moved to the General Discussion Thread as the Dallas game thread has run its course and no one is talking about that epic victory anymore!

I don't know why you post here other than to try to troll others via political stuff. You don't seem to be into hoops... despite coming to a very basketball-centric forum.
That's fine, I guess. But can you do the rest of this fairly tight-knit crew a favor and use the forum Q mentioned that's designed for such stuff?
Thanks.

That was a heck of a win even if the Mavs theoretically aren't exactly a tough opponent. I've see the Wolves and plenty of other teams get players back and struggle. All in all they blew the doors off the Mavs.
Ayo was absolutely fantastic.
Shannon had another nice pass when he got in. He certainly has been a disappointment this season but I would say the biggest factor was him not being healthy. I think there might be a pretty good basketball player in there. Joan does some really nice things too and he is 19.
I wish Conley could shoot the ball he can still do alm the other stuff. They could bring him back in the Ingles role next year and I would be cool with it. I'll actually be a little surprised if he doesn't come back.

It's downright scary. And Steve Kerr can use his voice to spew political hate and it goes unchecked.
Right. I hope the wolves win a title and I hope you all enjoy the ride. I, for one, won’t be a watching another minute of this. I’m sure I can find something else to do
conservatives always tend to be the biggest snowflakes
Yeah,I’m the snowflake. Please ban me, and make it permanent. I don’t need to interact in any way, shape or form with the likes of you.
