Shit if they wanted both, they have to give up their #1 next year. I just don't think it's wise to give up a 1st that could be a pick as high as #11 in June 2015 or unprotected pick in June 2016.

Can you imagine what that would look like if the Heat go down in flames & end up with a top 5 pick in 2016 that would have been the Wolves? Lets not just discard this pick as being near worthless.

Reason why I would prefer to give up Bennett... Plus I just don't think he's that good.

I don't think the Heat will go down in flames. They seem to have something to prove and with Paul George's injury, I think they're a lock to make the playoffs. That takes a little value off the pick for me.

True, but you never know especially given Wade's age/injury history. You just never know in sports.

Do the Cavs actually have 4 picks in 2015? If so I'd think Flip could get either the Cavs own or the Kings pick that they could swap for Young while keeping the MIA 1st.

Didn't that Kings pick get traded to Chicago for Deng? I believe so.

Ah so the Bulls get the Kings pick AND can swap #1s with CLE's own pick. Does that sound right?

That would still leave the CLE/CHI pick that could be flipped to the Sixers. Getting a 2nd 1st would make me a lot happier about this trade. Extra picks could allow the Wolves to move up for a guy they really want much the way the Bulls did this year.

More Like Craig Smith mixed with Ryan Gomes

Actually that would be an interesting player and yeah I'm actually being serious.

I don't want to give up Bennett or the first for Thad to be honest.
Hinkie is a joke if he thinks Thad is worth both, might even be stretching it for either. If we can't get Thad for Barea Luc and Shved plus some 2nds, roll with Bennett at PF and see what he can do

I don't value Thad super-highly but I'd like to get him. I don't think Hinkie is a joke for asking for more than some scraps for Young. He has leverage he can walk away and just keep him until a better offer comes. If all he is getting is 2nd rounders he might as well just keep him and let him walk. They can buy 2nd rounders I think they did that this year either way they had like 30 of them.

Philly's not trading Young for 2nd rounders. Get that out of your head(s).

So with Love complimenting the Cavs roster before the draft and with LeBron naming every Cav in his letter but Wiggins and Bennett, we had our answer all along? Love was always going to Celveland for the 1st pick to team up with LeBron? So all those posts about Boston, Golden State, Chicago, Klay Thompson, Nikola Mirotic, Dion Waiters, Tristan Thomspon were a waste of time? K, just checking.

It's Bennett or the Miami first for me, but not both. They both have decent value for us as Bennett was considered a top 5 player in the draft last year (4th of Ford's big board) and there is no guarantee the Miami pick breaks the top 20. I still think Miami is a playoff team this year in the East which means it gets traded anyway before disaster can strike and give us a top 5 pick. A lot of that depends on Wade, but I doubt the pick ends up in the top 10. Riley's going to keep going for the playoffs as long as Wade and Bosh are on the roster, so I don't see that pick ending up in the top 10 pending disaster. Would you rather have Bennett or a pick >10 next year in another draft largely not considered that strong? I would rather have Bennett than the Miami pick because I see Bennett as a better bet to be good than a lower lottery pick/pick not even in the lottery.

Its a good questio and I think the answer is...Sort of. It seems like Flip is a straight shooter. I bet when the Cavs asked what his price was for Love he told them. So for all this time the price was probably about what we are getting now. I bet this was communicated to LeBron hence the letter. So why has it taken so long? I think for one thing both the Cavs and the Wolves wanted to avoid the 30 day waiting period and maybe they had a couple teams somewhat interested in facilitating that. It never really materialized and so they finally had to have Wiggins sign to finish the deal.

The return for Love is Wiggins Bennett and aprotected 1st. Not bad. Anything else they get out of that is Flip taking what he got from that trade and turning it into something else like if he gives up part of the package for Young. Young right now is outside of the initial package. Let's see what Flip does now.
