And now the Blazers spending is complete.

"RFA Moe Harkless has agreed to a four-year, $40M-plus deal to re-sign with the Portland Trail Blazers, league sources tell The Vertical."

Going to be relying on a lot of mid-level exceptions going forward.

I agree I do like their roster and they are going to be a tough out for years to come but I don't see them as a championship contender. They have to get extremely lucky and hit on a first rounder to become all star level

I am so happy the Wolves didn't go off the deep end this summer, in a couple years most of these contracts are going to be major burdens on their teams. What this offseasons average to good players are getting paid is not the new normal, once cap space starts tightening up next offseason good luck to those teams trying to trade away these contracts!

It almost feels like fate has finally dealt the Wolves a great hand, not just in terms of young talent, top coaching, but in terms of timing. Just as their youth start coming up for their second contracts the stupid money will have largely dried up, star players will be getting paid, role players will once again get scraps, maybe not fair, but at least the Wolves shouldn't have any stupid money on their payroll!

I agree with your take but get ready lavine will also more than likely be a max contract so let's hippie he can become that "max" guy

Our biggest issue is going to be next offseason with Dieng, and possibly Bazz if he should have an unexpected breakout year as an all around player. By the following offseason money league wide should begin tightening up at which point average to good players aren't going to be getting stupid money anymore. Regarding Zach, I certainly hope he earns a max deal!

Dieng and Shabazz are nice pieces but not players I'd worry to much about going forward if their asking price affects the ability to sign any of the core pieces I'd send them down the road and not worry about it too much.

Canis Hoopus was saying we should have offered Mo a deal to force a match by Portland. I wonder if any other teams made offers.

How much do you offer just to play that game of chicken? In addition Harkless would have to be interested in going to that team to sign the offer sheet. He got 10 million per. That's about what I would have offered him if I was serious about trying to get him. It seems like a fair deal but quite honestly it may not be long before that looks like a bargain. It reminds me of when they signed Aminu to a decent chunk of money and now that looks like a great deal and it actually goes down in value till the end of the contract. I thought it was a pretty good deal at the time he was at worst a pretty good bench player.

Ronnie Price will reportedly sign a two-year contract with the Thunder.
