Agreed. Nick Gordon has to be available. I would even trade Royce for a cy young type start at this point.

It's still too early but Romero could be showing why sometimes dealing prospects for established players can be a good strategy.

Rogers with a 7 out save yesterday with 5 strikeouts. At this moment it seems like he is one of the best relievers in all of baseball. The rest of the pen has some solid guys and considering Parker is getting the most money at 1.8 million followed by Rogers at 1.5 million and nobody making more than 1 million its honestly not a bad group. For a team that obviously should consider themselves a contender it's not gonna be good enough. It's hurt that neither Hildy or Romero is helping the MLB club and despite that the pen has held up enough.

Pineda had another nice outing. Another starter would be nice for the postseason but the Pen is where I would be looking to add. Perez hasn't been as good but a couple of his recent outings some of the defense behind him hasn't been the best. He needs to get back on track though.

What has been weird about this 16-14 stretch the team has been on. Is that there bullpen has been the third best in baseball. Think if the bullpen was having problems 16-14 could've been 11-19 and were tied with Cleveland.

Jester - Great point. I don't know the numbers, but it seems like the bullpen has been carrying its share if not more. I think we need a big arm as a starter and health to really be a factor. I am sure another big arm in the bullpen would help in the postseason, but for a regular season, I think we are fine.

WPA is a good stat to measure a bullpen. It measure a player's contribution to a win depending on the situation. So it puts more weight on what Rogers did yesterday than when Morin comes in mop up duty with 8-1 lead. Right Taylor Rogers is 5th in WPA for relievers. Overall the bullpen is 6th mostly because of Rogers though. It's funny I was talking to a couple buddies yesterday complaining about the team not playing well. If you told me at the begging of the year they being going into the all star break with 6 game lead on the Indians. I would could call your crazy and bet 100 bucks with you on it lol.

I know it is strange. It seems like people are panicking for not playing at a record pace anymore.

Where can I find that stat?

I'm guilty of not giving certain guys in this pen their due. I pretty much watch condensed games and some games I don't look at the box scores. Yesterday's game Duffy gave up 3 runs and I was like...ugh that guy kinda sucks. Then today I was looking at his stats and...you know what they are far from terrible. The guy has 35 strikeouts in 28 innings with just 6 walks. Is he a guy I trust coming into the 6th inning an beyond especially in the playoffs? No. Should I cringe as much as I sometimes do? Probably not. The Funny thing is I was a Duffy guy until probably a few months ago. I don't dislike him but I thought things had run their course and it was time to move on. It did make some sense to keep him though as a guy with major league experience that still had another minor league option year.

You really can't complain too much about what the Twins have done with their pen. How many relievers that they could have signed have been bad? Cody Allen is one of them and he is now with the Twins on a minor league deal. How long will it take for Kimbrel to round into shape? Last year they moved Rodney who was bad for the A's this year who let him go. I haven't paid much attention to the rest of the league enough to know who else they could have had but finding a useful guy like Ryne Harper was pretty good. You never know who could step up like Trevor May or even someone in the minors. The Twins spent some money this offseason on a couple bats and that's paid off pretty well.

Is Arreaz for real as a major league hitter?
