I wonder if a 3 year $100M contract would get it done. Team/Player option for year 3.

I'm not buying any of this being darkhorses for those bigtime guys. MLB FA just keeps getting more bizzare though.

Boras would wonder what farm system the Twins are part of.

It sounds like the idea of the Twins being a mystery team was Buster Onley trying to figure out who the mystery team was and mentioned the Twins basically because they had money to play with in terms of payroll. So yeah...nothing new.

As for Boras...supposedly based on both Wolfson and Wetmore the Twins have had plenty of discussions with him in the past (last offseason for sure). It does feel weird that the Twins actually do seem to have been at least chatting with him even back tonthe Terry Ryan era. I like the jokes though. :)

Any thoughts on the wildly anticipated Martin Perez signing. His name sounds like a journeyman catcher...I had no idea who he was. Lol I haven't seen who the latest cut is. As for Perez it seems like a cheap flyer on a guy that's not terribly old will be cheap and was 5th starter successful for a couple years. People made fun of the Annabil Sanchez signing and he ended up having a nice season for another team. He had a better past resume though.

Found this scouting report: Martin Perez is a solid batting practice arm with an upside as a long reliever. He can pitch a good number of innings while giving up a lot of hits, striking out a few, and walking a batter every 3rd inning.

Former big-league GM has 3 Twins in running for Comeback Player of the Year honors:

I am surprised Buxton is not higher.

Duda signed to a minor league deal. The Twins have some interesting power options at the DH/1b spot. It would be nice if a reliever signed to a minor league deal turned out to be useful.

I agree and I don't think Duda will be one of them. It sounds like management is willing to put some of the young arms in the pen that might project to be future starters. At least that is the case with Romero.
