I just listened to Dane Moore's conversation with a Memphis media person name Chris about Kyle Anderson. Here are some takeaways. I'll also add a couple comments from Anthony Tolliver from Wolfson's podcast.

-Chris said that Anderson had shoulder surgery a few years ago and that surgery actually removed a bone. 2 years ago he was fully recovered his shot didn't have a hitch in it and he shot well from 3. He said media day before this last season Kyle said his shoulder was bothering him and made a joke that he was going to have to be like Jacob deGrom and play through it. Basically it seems this is always gonna be a problem so don't expect Anderson to shoot well from 3. If you watch Anderson shoot 3's this knowledge makes sense and it explains why he looks so bad when the rest of his game is so smooth.

-Chris really praised his playmaking and passing. He said if you asked Kyle what position he thinks he is he might say PG. he said he probably could play PG if you needs to and he definitely can offer value as a secondary playmaker. He is actually best with the ball in his hands on offense. Anthony Tolliver also raved about Anderson's passing saying he makes plays where you are like how did he make that pass. Chris pointed out he actually increases the pace because he either gets a rebound and pushes it himself or is a very good and quick outlet passer.

-Basically both guys said Anderson is a good dude wants to win and the Memphis guy Chris said he is a great "helper" he finds a way to win and can help in a lot of ways. He is a unique guy so you have to find ways to deploy him since he can't just park in the corner but he brings a lot of value to a team especially as a defender. Chris thinks the fit for the Wolves was very good.

Good stuff Monster, thanks for posting those comments.

Yeah, hard not to like the Anderson signing. I really like how he helps shore up the defense on the second unit. That's going to be important since I think the rest of the second unit as currently constructed is really leaky defensively IMO. And his ability to make plays is a bonus. I think we might see a lot of him in crunch time minutes in place of Gobert, especially in offensive ATO situations.

Thanks monster. That must have been Chris Vernon, right? Did he have the voice of an agitated but somewhat endearing badger from a Pixar movie? If so, that was him.

Lol that's a great description so I am glad I didn't say exactly who it was. It was actually Chris Herrington but I could see this description fitting him somewhat as well. Lol
