Ha, I was just teasing a little about the Pippin thing. Because I may be higher on McDaniels than even you are. I had such a negative impression of him when we drafted him because of his immaturity in college as demonstrated by so many technical fouls. But what I saw on the court right from the start was totally different than what I expected. Such a combination of poise, court sense, and athleticism, along with a shooting stroke that looks like he can be reliable from the outside. But I also don't want him to just rely on the outside shot, and you perhaps read that Finch has challenged him to expend his offensive game and put the ball on the floor at times. We saw a little of that last night.

And that footwork! That, plus the other defensive aspects you noted tell me he has Defensive All-NBA potential if he continues to develop. I can see why he was the 7th highest rated player in the country coming out of HS.

Oh that's good news, I'm happy Finch sees it that way. But no, I hadn't seen it, thanks for sharing.

Im on the play McDaniels more at sf camp. He can stay with wings and guards on defense. He can shoot and is good at cutting baseline. He definitely should be encouraged more to put the ball on the floor and he seems to have a good touch in the midrange. Im really excited at both him and edwards. They could form a lethal starting wing combo for us that gives us an advantage in length and size.

I rip rosas as much as the next guy here. But he did good work with the Edwards, McDaniels and Nowell picks. Props to him for locking up Naz a day after the draft last year and he was smart enough to change Naz's original two way deal into a 4 year deal after working him out. That was a shrewd move for him. Jmac is another good find. Culver is the only black mark for him. But if he can somehow turn culver into John Collins then Il give rosas his due praise.

Who knows, I doubt the Wolves play as well they did the rest of the year. Both Nowell and McDaniels were draining threes like crazy. The Wolves almost shot 50% from 3 as a team.

I would say it was a bad team who was playing poorly with a combination of the Wolves who were shooting incredibly hot.

I wouldn't get my hopes up to see repeat performances as those numbers are not repeatable over the long term, but it was also great to see at least for one game. That we know they can get that hot.

Consistency for the young guys has been a problem all year which is to be expected, I just want to see a little more good play more often. If the team could somehow play closer to .500 ball the rest of the year that would be nice, however it could also be asking too much, we'll see.
