Yeah, i remember that report coming out about a year and a half ago. They said he was the only current NBA player over 300 pounds even though he is only 6'6"! It's both an advantage (in that he can overpower anybody while also being very athletic) and a disadvantage for him in that the human body isn't designed to carry that much weight. He's such a unique talent, but I'm afraid he's destined to a career of foot/knee/ankle injuries. Too bad.
I think I remember reading once he put on 100 pounds between his freshman and junior years in high school!
Yeah, especially when you're as explosive as he as on the hardwood court. His knees and lower body in general can't be enjoying that much stress. I too worry about his health moving forward. Honestly, I wouldn't want him to exceed 260 pounds and that's even still a bit higher than I'd like, but I think it's a good medium for him.
NBA.com currently has him listed at 284 lbs so 300 or more seems very possible. To me he looks like a guy that could shed some weight but maybe he is just that big. I do think the guy is a big dude that probably would have a hard time dropping to any sort of typical weight for his size. I wouldn't worry as much but he already has had multiple injuries so it's clearly a concern. I worried about his long term health at the time of the draft and it will be a shame if his career is marred by injuries.
The photos from this year's media day and a past media day that were shared last week were telling...
That's obviously all lighting and photoshop!!! How did they do Zion like that?!?
Oh my bad. Those photos are actually of Zion Williamson (bottom) and Glenn "Big Baby" Davis (top).
Apologies.
Are you sure the top one isn't Antoine Walker?

This is Sacramento mismanaging a talented young player. Marvin Bagley's had injury issues, certainly, but he's produced when he's had opportunities. And from what I've read it's his family that has been a nuisance to the organization more so than Bagley himself. He's caught in the crossfire and the start of his career has been far from what mostly everyone thought it would be. He'll eventually wind up on a new team that gives him a consistent role where he'll thrive and the media will praise the new team for developing him. We've seen this story before.
We all know the Wolves dysfunction over the years... but the Kings have been right there with them.
Whenever I hear of any drama in either place... I immediately pin the blame on the organization. It might not be 100% accurate, but it would have earned me A LOT of money over the years if I was a betting man.
Look I get why they didn't want to just trade him for a 2nd rounder expiring deal/s and a bag of chips or whatever because he is talented and at one point they didn't exactly have a slew of options at PF. I'm not sure what they are planning to do there now but at some point do they just move him to give him an opportunity or are they like hoping to bag something next offseason in a sign and trade? I can't imagine a team giving up a 1st rounder like Chicago demanded and eventually got for Markkenan. At some point will teams want to give up anything when they could just sign him in a few months?

Now rondo is giving gun gestures to courtside Laker fans who are slapping his hand away, I might have to call my doctor for an erection lasting longer than 6 hours at this rate

The Lakers are embarrassing themselves, not so much as a basketball team, but as men.
