Or better yet, he should go find a team that wants him who also won't hurt his feelings, please. Pretty sure we could pass that hat on this forum alone and get him a privately chartered flight to that team tomorrow.
First of all listening to him speak it makes me assume Wiggins isn't the sharpest athlete in the world. Let's say Wiggins was like "Wolves thought about trading me to the Nets" would that be such a bad thing? That organization has done well with some guys nobody else wants seems to be a good organization etc. It's probably a pretty good market. The reality is Wiggins or someone close to him in his family either gets he is a negative around the league or is about to figure it out (what a shock!!!). Rosas has been said to be willing to move anyone other than Towns in the right deal. Let's be straight up honest...does that really surprise anyone? If it's surprising Wiggins well... There is also a difference between discussing guys in trades and then just tell them it's just a part of the league and do their job like Thibs did and doing some sort of reasonable communication with the guys. We will see how this front office operates. Lots of guys that were or ended up being really valuable almost got traded. There was an article or 2 that came out recently about how Lowry almost got traded to the Knicks.

https://www.complex.com/sports/2019/06/karl-anthony-towns-interviewTowns interview - this is the only part worth reading
Next season, there's a lot of people you can add to the roster, specifically your boy D'Angelo Russell. Would it be open to team up with D-Lo in Minnesota?
Of course, of course. That would be a huge move for us to get him to come to Minnesota. For me to have my brother with me would make the game so much more fun. We got work to do for that to happen. Regardless if he's in or not, we gotta find ways to win. There's great talent in free agency and the draft, and we don't have much time to mess up. We have to get now.

According to windhorst, suns are now very interested in beverley.
So that leaves the lakers and wolves with the wolves as really the only team that is looking at dlo as their top choice.
Im not the biggest fan of getting dlo mostly because of the assets that woukd be required to free up space. But with his market possibly dying down, that could mean he wont get the full max which means we wouldnt have to create as much space. I originally was hoping for a 4/80 type deal, we just might see that.

My point was that rosas and company came in preaching family, development, etc.. But, we've already seem him trade saric, roco rumors, wiggs rumors, etc.. I thought he was going to see how this team played out before listening and pushing trade offers. With the crap this team went through with jimmy and thibs, i thought this team looked good when covington was healthy and everyone was happy and liked each other for a change. Now we might have an atmosphere of players looking behind their shoulders, "who's next".

Because we need a cleaning, we have never built a team, we have only collected random players that dont work together.

We missed the playoffs and weren't close with our long term core pieces playing most of the year. You can blame Jimmy and Thibs, but it's not like we closed really well with Ryan and just couldn't make up the gap. We finished 11-20 from February to the last game. These guys frankly didn't earn an off-season of stability because they weren't even close to being even a .500 team to close the year.

We're skeptical of DLO and sing the praises of Tyus Jones and Ricky Rubio at a time that perimeter scoring is at a premium. I just don't get it.

Yep, neither do I. Some on this board would rather let Jones be the starter I'm sure.

I don't see a lot of folks on this Board signing the praises of Rubio right now. And no one is talking about giving Tyus a max contract.

We need to make a serious push for dlo. Max contract or not, the guy is an all star and is elite at volume 3pt shooting and a very good playmaker and pick and roll player. Those are skills we sorely need.
We need to do something this offseason. We cant afford to stand pat and do nothing.
The reason is becase there are many teams with cap space that we need to take advantage of. A lot of top tier players are free agents. Half of the players in the league are free agents. Money will be spent and there may not be as many teams with cap space next season. We need to be active this offseason.
Teague and his 19m expiring is at his highest value currently. It diminishes as the season starts and wont have much value at the deadline. Covington's value is at his peak now. He had a great run here prior to his injury. His value wont go higher now.
The time to strike is right now. Teams wont want to lose a durant, kyrie, butler, harris, walker, randle, dlo for nothing. After the big names are signed, the middleton, lopez, brogdon, aminu, mirotic, green, gasol, vucevic, jordan, rubio etc are going to get long term deals as well, tying up teams cap space. Holding onto teague's 19m expiring and not being open to get the most value out of cov and okogie would be a mistake.
We have 2 max contract in towns and wig long term. Dieng and his 16m is on the books for 2 more season. We have rookie deals and would likely need to spend money to sign a backup pg and rotation big. We wont have much cap space next off season so the best option is to go all in now on a dlo and get the best out of teague and cov while we can.
